The Big Ten’s leading rusher in 2023 was back at it in the Scarlet Knights 49-17 romp over Akron. Kyle Monangai ran for 208 yards and three touchdowns for this week’s top performance.

The freshman wide receiver was getting rave reviews in the spring and he has lived up to the hype the first two weeks of the season. In the Buckeyes’ 56-0 win over Western Michigan Jeremiah Smith made five catches for 119 yards including a 70-yard touchdown.

4. Nick Marsh, WR, Michigan State
Nick Marsh set a Spartans’ freshman receiving record in MSU’s 27-24 win at Maryland Saturday. He made eight catches for 194 yards and a touchdown. His 77-yard touchdown tied the score in the fourth quarter.

3. Xavier Scott, DB, Illinois
Xavier Scott helped the Illini to an upset win over Kansas on Saturday on the defensive side of the ball. He made eight total tackles including a sack. He also picked off two passes, returning one for a touchdown and forced a fumble.

2. Indiana’s Offense vs. Western Illinois
The Hoosiers offense broke school records for most points (77) and total yards (701) in a single game. They nearly met the margin of victory record too in their 77-3 win over a dreadful WIU team. No one player had THAT kind of game, but the whole unit scored 11 touchdowns.
