Ranking the Top 24 Heisman Trophy Candidates for 2025

RB Nate Frazier (+10000) *TIED*

2024 Stats: 129 CAR, 634 yards, 8 TDs

If Etienne enters the 2025 NFL Draft, Frazier will enter next season as the lead back for the Georgia Bulldogs. I think this dude is a beast, and will certainly be playing on Sundays in the near future.

QB Garrett Nussmeier (+700)

2024 Stats: 3,739 yards, 63.7%, 26 TDs, 11 INTs

After a solid season as LSU's starter, Nussmeier should return as a Heisman frontrunner in 2025.

QB John Mateer (+800)

2024 Stats: 3,139 yards, 64.6% 29 TDs, 7 INTs

Mateer, one of the top quarterbacks in the portal, just transferred to Oklahoma for the upcoming season and is poised for a strong season.

QB Drew Allar (+900)

2024 Stats: 2,894 yards, 69.1%, 21 TDs, 7 INTs

Allar had himself an impressive season, and has floated on the idea of staying another year at Penn State. This would be huge news, as he is a projected first round pick in many 2025 NFL mock drafts.

QB Nico Iamaleava (+1000)

2024 Stats: 2,512 yards, 65.7%, 19 TDs, 5 INTs

The redshirt freshman quarterback has been impressive with the Volunteers and will look to continue that next season. He will get some good experience in this year’s playoffs.

QB Cade Klubnik (+1100)

2024 Stats: 3,303 yards, 63.7%, 33 TDs, 5 INTs

Klubnik isn’t talked about enough, in my opinion. This guy has been fantastic for Clemson this year, and let’s not forget he was a five-star recruit out of high school.

QB LaNorris Sellers (+1200) *TIED*

2024 Stats: 2,274 yards, 64.9%, 17 TDs, 7 INTs

Sellers introduced himself to the college football world this season, showing that he can run a college offense. We will have to see how things play out, but he looks like the real deal.

QB Kevin Jennings (+1200) *TIED*

2024 Stats: 3,050 yards, 66%, 22 TDs, 8 INTs

Jennings is a flashy quarterback who is fun to watch. Not to mention, this guy can make some big plays downfield with his arm or his legs. Keep an eye on him in the playoffs this year.

QB DJ Lagway (+1400) *TIED*

2024 Stats: 1,610 yards, 59.2%, 11 TDs, 7 INTs

Lagway has come in as a true freshman for the Gators and played fairly decently. I think it’s only up from here for him.

QB Conner Weigman (+1400) *TIED*

2024 Stats: 819 yards, 56.1%, 3 TDs, 5 INTs

Weigman has transferred out of Texas A&M and is going to Houston. I'm not sure how this will impact his future, but if he can fulfill his potential and make a name for himself with the Cougars, look out.

QB Sam Leavitt (+1600)

2024 Stats: 2,663 yards, 63.2%, 24 TDs, 5 INTs

Leavitt has been impressive with Arizona State this season and could blossom into a Heisman frontrunner. Only time will tell, but the playoff experience this year should help.

QB Kaidon Salter (+2500) *TIED*

2024 Stats: 1,886 yards, 56.3%, 15 TDs, 6 INTs

Salter is headed to Colorado through the transfer portal. I’ll be honest, I am not too hot on Salter. I think he was decent at Liberty, but nothing screams Heisman candidate.

QB Jackson Arnold (+2500) *TIED*

2024 Stats: 1,421 yards, 62.6%, 12 TDs, 3 INTs

Arnold is set to run the offense for Auburn after transferring out of Oklahoma. I think this is a great change of scenery for the guy who will have a shot to make a new name for himself.

QB Miller Moss (+3300)

2024 Stats: 2,555 yards, 64.4%, 18 TDs, 9 INTs

Moss has transferred out of USC and to Louisville. He had some impressive stats this season, so we’ll see how it plays out for the Cardinals. I think he will be a big help to that offense.

WR Jeremiah Smith (+5000) *TIED*

2024 Stats: 57 REC, 934 yards, 10 TDs

I am SHOCKED that Smith is this far back in the 2025 Heisman odds. This guy is top three, in my opinion. Smith will be Ohio State’s No. 1 receiver next season and is poised for an increase in production after solidifying himself as one of college football's best wideouts.

QB Matthew Sluka (+5000) *TIED*

2024 Stats: 318 yards, 43.8%, 6 TDs, 1 INT

Sluka made an interesting decision that broke headlines earlier this year. He transferred out of UNLV after just three games. This decision was due to NIL promises not being kept, but regardless, it’s pretty odd. As of now, we are still waiting to see where he transfers to play next season.

QB Dylan Raiola (+6600) *TIED*

2024 Stats: 2,595 yards, 66.6%, 12 TDs, 10 INTs

The true freshman came to Nebraska after flipping his commitment away from the Georgia Bulldogs and put up decent numbers for a program trying to find its identity. Next season, I think he will get some help at O-line and receiver, which will help his 2025 Heisman case.

QB Fernando Mendoza (+6600) *TIED*

2024 Stats: 3,004 yards, 68.7%, 16 TDs, 6 INTs

After a good year at Cal, Mendoza is hitting the transfer portal. Whichever school lands him will be in good hands because this guy has what it takes to thrive in any offense.

WR Ryan Williams (+7500) *TIED*

2024 Stats: 45 REC, 857 yards, 8 TDs

Williams had a remarkable freshman year at Alabama and will be a Heisman frontrunner next season. Don’t forget this kid is still just 17 years old.

QB Bryce Underwood (+7500) *TIED*

2024 HS Stats: 2,095 yards, 71.8%, 29 TDs, 3 INTs

Underwood is the No. 1 player in the nation for a reason and is poised to take Michigan’s starting quarterback role next season. I think he will be a stud and will help persuade several receivers in the portal to join him.

RB Jeremiyah Love (+10000) *TIED*

2024 Stats: 134 CAR, 949 yards, 15 TDs

One of the best underclassmen running backs in the nation, Love is set up to bring these numbers up even further next year. Keep an eye on him in Notre Dame’s playoff run this season.

RB Jordan James (+10000) *TIED*

2024 Stats: 226 CAR, 1,253 yards, 15 TDs

James is eligible to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, but if he stays, look out because this guy is legit and will again be a force to be reckoned with.

S Caleb Downs (+10000) *TIED*

2024 Stats: 61 TOT, 33 SOLO, 1 INT, 1 RET TD

Downs transferred to Ohio State from Alabama this offseason, and ever since has been a leader on their defense this season. He makes plays all over the field and very clearly has an elite IQ.
