Where to Watch Georgia vs. Alabama
- Location: Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium (Tuscaloosa, Alabama)
- Time: 7:30 p.m. ET | Where to Watch: ABC
- Spread: Georgia -2.5 | Moneyline: Georgia -126 | Total: 48.5
Georgia vs. Alabama Best Bet ATS: Bulldogs -2.5 (-105)
There have already been some major clashes early on in the college football season, but this one takes the cake. The Crimson Tide have dominated the matchup of late, and it will be interesting to see how subbing in head coach Kalen DeBoer for Nick Saban changes things. DeBoer is a good coach in his own right, but Saban is going down as the GOAT for a reason. Saban had Kirby Smart’s number, and now Smart has to prove this wasn’t an Alabama problem, but a Saban one.
The line opened up at -4.5 in favor of Georgia and has been bet down in favor of the Crimson Tide to -2.5 Bulldogs. Despite money coming in on Alabama, the Bulldogs winning this game by a field goal or more remains our most likely outcome. There have been high and low points for these two powerhouse programs early on, but they both remain undefeated with a chance to really pop in the rankings with a win. With Mykel Williams on track to return against Alabama this weekend (keep an eye on his status), that gives the Bulldogs an edge in a matchup they should be able to win on the defensive line. There have been some real question marks about Alabama’s offensive line early on, and the Bulldogs have the type of pressure off the edge to make Jalen Milroe uncomfortable in the pocket, which was missing in last year’s SEC Championship Game. In addition to liking Georgia by a field goal, their moneyline odds of -126 are also appealing.
Georgia vs. Alabama Best Bet Total: OVER 48.5 (-110)
With Carson Beck taking on Jalen Milroe, I still expect points to be scored in this matchup. Statistically, these are two of the top three offenses in the country ranked by SP+. The Bulldogs have a major weapon in their run game that hasn’t yet fully exploded in Trevor Etienne, while the Crimson Tide wideout Ryan Williams has already made his mark with his elite speed. Even with some injury issues, the Bulldogs boast of being one of the top offensive lines in the nation and should be able to move the football in this clash of big-time offenses. The Bulldogs have the depth on offense, while the Crimson Tide have multiple game-breakers. With two signal-callers that can generate offense on any given snap, fireworks should be created here, even if defensive stops are mixed in between. It won’t surprise me if this number continues rising leading up to kick-off. I would recommend playing it up to 49.5.
Georgia vs. Alabama Best Player Props
Georgia Bulldogs Wide Receiver Colbie Young Anytime Touchdown (+370)
I absolutely love the price we’re getting on Young to score a touchdown in this big matchup. We expect points to be scored in this matchup, and Young has been a consistent target for Beck in the red zone. Young has some untapped abilities that the Bulldogs haven’t utilized on offense yet. Young’s ability to separate in the red zone and go up top to get balls makes him a really intriguing play to find the end zone on Saturday night.
