The undefeated Penn Nittany Lions travel west for a battle with the USC Trojans, who are desperately looking to get off the struggle bus after losing two of their past three games. In what will be a hostile environment, Penn State will have its hands full.
Penn State vs. USC
- Location: Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (Los Angeles, California) | Time: 3:30 PM ET
- Where to Watch: CBS/Paramount+
- Spread: Penn State -3.5 | Moneyline: Penn State -172 | Total: 47.5
Penn State vs. USC Best Bet: Penn State -3.5
The Nittany Lions have looked like the real deal through the first six weeks of play. Meanwhile, the Trojans have struggled to find consistency over the last several weeks following their first loss of the year to Michigan. Penn State may not dominate USC like they have to opponents in the past, but they should win by enough to cover the spread.
Penn State vs. USC Best Total Bet: Over 47.5
Penn State has one of the top defenses in the league to start the season. On the flip side, the Trojans have the firepower to put points up quickly. Assuming Lincoln Riley and his squad understand the importance of this home game, USC could get in their bags of tricks early to try and keep pace with Penn State. A final score of 27-23 seems reasonable in a PSU win.
Penn State Best Player Bet: Nicholas Singleton First Touchdown Scorer +600
Nicholas Singleton has been one of the biggest offensive playmakers for Penn State this season. The shifty running back is up to 408 rushing yards and three touchdowns through five games and on Saturday, the junior could put his mark on the battle early with the game’s first touchdown.
USC Best Player Bet: Ja’Kobi Lane Any Time Touchdown +300
Ja’Kobi Lane wasn’t the top Trojans receiver many expected entering the year, but the sophomore has stepped up big in his opportunities. Leading the team in receptions (21), receiving yards (234), and touchdowns (four), the talented wideout has quickly become a reliable target for Miller Moss. Lane has a solid chance to add to his season totals with a touchdown against Penn State.
