However, they'll have to knock off a Clemson Tigers team that has run the conference for nearly the last decade. In what a close battle, Dabo Swinney's squad will pull off the upset and punch their ticket to the postseason as a 10-3 wildcard.

Prediction: Clemson 27, SMU 24

CFB Prediction: Clemson will clinch a spot in the playoffs, but as the No. 12 seed, putting them in a first-round battle against Penn State. Meanwhile, SMU will grab the No. 11 spot and knock the Crimson Tide out of the postseason, assuming the committee elects not to penalize the Mustangs for losing their conference championship game.
