1. Walter Nolen - Ole Miss
Arguably, the biggest name available in the transfer portal ends up with Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss Rebels. Walter Nolen has all the tools to pop off this season, which is good news for a Rebels program that wants to take another big step this year. The pieces are there for the former five-star recruit to put up a significant season with the Rebels. Although his 2023 numbers don't jump off the page, Nolen's tools are what coaches dream about. He should make Kiffin and Co. very happy.
Ole Miss Rebels National Championship Odds: +1500
5. Trevor Etienne - Georgia
A dual-threat offense remains a priority for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs. Adding Trevor Etienne in the transfer portal gives the Bulldogs more depth and explosive tendencies in their running back room. Etienne is coming off a tallying just shy of 1,000 all-purpose yards with the Gators in 2023. The Bulldogs are expected to have a solid offensive line in 2024, with multiple position players returning. Look for Etienne to make a sizable impact and increase his draft stock.
Georgia Bulldogs National Championship Odds: +300
4. Nic Scourton - Texas A&M
After losing some production to the 2024 NFL Draft and the transfer portal, Texas A&M needed to find a way to replenish some of that talent, which they managed to do by adding Nic Scourton. The former Purdue Boilermaker is coming off a double-digit sack campaign, which should at least soften the blow of losing Walter Nolen to the portal. If the Aggies want to move up the ladder to be in the conversation for the College Football Playoff, Scourton will need to find another level with this program.
Texas A&M Aggies National Championship Odds: +4000
3. Cayden Green - Missouri
The Missouri Tigers had a strong 2023 campaign, setting their sights higher in 2024. Adding strong protection for returning quarterback Brady Cook was a key, which they did in the transfer portal with Cayden Green. Green was one of the top available targets in the transfer portal, and the Tigers landing him demonstrates how big of a step this program has taken in recent years.
Missouri Tigers National Championship Odds: +3300
2. Isaiah Bond - Texas
After falling shy of a national title with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Isaiah Bond headed to the transfer portal after legendary head coach Nick Saban announced his retirement. Bond wasn't the only one, but he's a difference-maker who should thrive with this Texas offense. Quinn Ewers is a strong Heisman candidate (+750), and Bond is a dynamic talent who should fit right into this national title-contending roster. Bond tallied 668 receiving yards and four touchdowns with the Crimson Tide in 2023.
Texas Longhorns National Championship Odds: +700
