Where to Watch: ACC Network Debuts Three Days of ACC Football, Aug. 29-31, Ushering in New Era

As the summer countdown diminishes, the ACC Network is gearing up to ignite a new epoch in college football, heralding its arrival with an ambitious slate of games across ESPN platforms for the first three weeks of the 2024 season.

This season, ACC Network is set to broadcast 11 marquee matchups featuring nine conference teams, including seven exhilarating home openers. Highlighting the early season schedule is a special Week 11 Friday night encounter that will see the ACC’s newest addition, California, venturing to Wake Forest for a night under the lights on November 8 at 8 p.m. ET.

The action kicks off with a bang in Week 1, presenting three consecutive days of gridiron battles starting on Thursday, August 29, with NC State, ranked 18th in ESPN.com’s Way Too Early Top 25, welcoming Western Carolina at 7 p.m. The excitement continues into Friday as Duke’s new head coach, Manny Diaz, makes his debut against Elon at 7:30 p.m. The weekend reaches its climax with a Saturday tripleheader featuring home openers for Louisville and Syracuse, and culminates with Georgia Tech hosting Georgia State in the season’s inaugural ACC Network Primetime game.

Week 2 keeps the momentum rolling with another thrilling Saturday tripleheader. The noon kickoff at the JMA Wireless Dome sees Syracuse facing off against Georgia Tech in the season’s first conference game. This is followed by North Carolina taking on Charlotte at 3:30 p.m., and the day wraps up with Dabo Swinney and his 19th-ranked Clemson Tigers clashing with Appalachian State in primetime.

The spectacle continues into Week 3 with another tripleheader that starts with NC State hosting Louisiana Tech at noon, followed by 24th-ranked Miami battling Ball State at 3:30 p.m., and Virginia playing host to Maryland at 8 p.m. on September 14.

These primetime showcases—featuring Georgia Tech, Clemson, and Virginia—are further enhanced by the ACC Huddle road shows, bringing an extra layer of excitement and coverage to the events. Additionally, ACC Network Extra (ACCNX) will stream 11 more games, including matchups featuring new ACC members like California and Stanford, adding depth to an already stacked early-season schedule.

This heralds the beginning of the ACC’s new scheduling model through 2030, abolishing divisions and featuring 17 schools, thereby enriching the conference rivalry landscape with increased matchups. As the anticipation builds, further details on talent assignments and additional games will be eagerly awaited as the summer progresses.
