Tennessee Backed to Cover and Challenge Alabama Outright
Alabama-Tennessee is another big game where Dave and I agree, and those shared picks have gone well for us. Iowa-Michigan comes to mind. I love Tennessee in this matchup and believe George McIntyre is being underestimated while Alabama is being boosted too heavily.
The Crimson Tide are the more injured team and are coming off their biggest game of the season against Georgia. After losing that matchup following a non-call, Alabama must turn around and travel to Knoxville. It is difficult to win there, especially while laying 7.5 or eight points.
Tennessee’s advantage is in the trenches and on the ground. The Volunteers are averaging 228.3 rushing yards per game, while Georgia rushed for 206 yards against Alabama last week. Tennessee can lean on the running game despite the quarterback change.
Getting more than a touchdown makes Tennessee attractive at 7.5 or eight points. We are not playing the moneyline, but the Volunteers are very live in this spot and capable of winning outright.
