49ers vs. Rams Best Bet ATS: 49ers -7 (-115)

The 49ers are coming off an uninspiring showing in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings, while the Rams were downright humiliated by a divisional rival in Arizona. Which team is in better shape to bounce back? The answer is clearly San Francisco. Even though the 49ers have injury issues of their own, the Rams’ injury situation is in a different stratosphere. Well, we don’t love counting out Sean McVay in a bounce-back spot; the 49ers have edges all over the football field, even without two key offensive weapons playing. With the targets missing for the Rams, it’s hard to see them being able to move the football against this dangerous 49ers defense. Kyle Shanahan should be able to cook up enough looks for the 49ers’ healthy weapons on offense to cover for the number for the visitors. 

49ers vs. Rams Best Bet Total: UNDER 44.5 (-110)

We were used to seeing both these offenses loaded with weapons, but with multiple pieces out on each side, there’s a solid case to be made that we might not see an egregious offensive affair on Sunday. Even when these teams have been relatively healthy on the field, the under has hit in three of the last five games. We’re not banking on that trend changing here. There’s a lot of merit in both teams trying to emphasize the run game early, which should limit plays and provide a slower pace of play. It’s hard to see the Rams putting up a ton of offense in this matchup, and we’ve already seen the 49ers struggle to move the football consistently without Deebo Samuel in the lineup. Ride with the under.

Brandon Aiyuk OVER 64.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

Without Deebo Samuel in the lineup over the last three seasons, Brandon Aiyuk’s target percentage hovers around 30%, which is a big boost. After a slow start, we’ve been waiting for a get-right spot for Aiyuk, and this matchup is it. In the passing game, Aiyuk should be the focal point on Sunday, with the 49ers knowing they need to get him going. When we saw Aiyuk’s receiving line open around 65, we were surprised that number wasn’t in the 70’s. Our best guess is that factors in some of his early struggles. We’re banking on a slump buster on Sunday and wouldn’t advise against looking at some alternate receiving yards props to target even higher, either.
