Five NFL Teams That Should Be Worried Right Now

The NFL season is approaching the halfway mark, the pressure is beginning to mount. Some teams are establishing themselves as legitimate contenders, while others are watching their seasons take a troubling turn. Here are five teams that we think should be most worried right now.
5) Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles' season is spiraling after a 38-21 loss to the Cowboys on MNF, their fifth straight loss.

Philadelphia Eagles Team Profile
- 2025 Record: 11-6
- Division Finish: 1st in NFC East
- Head Coach: Nick Sirianni
- Offensive Coordinator: Sean Mannion
- Defensive Coordinator: Vic Fangio
- Stadium: Lincoln Financial Field
- 2026 Record: 2-5
The Philadelphia Eagles are off to an awful 2-5 start and sit 2.5 games behind the Giants for first place in the NFC East. Philadelphia has gone from a major contender to a team fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive. Starting quarterback Jalen Hurts is expected to miss the rest of the season with blood clots, leaving backup Tanner McKee in charge.

The Eagles have dealt with injuries to several key players, including Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith. They have also struggled in the run game, with offensive line shuffling after trading center Cam Jurgens and right tackle Lane Johnson's sudden retirement. The Eagles will need to rely on their defense and hope their offensive playmakers stay healthy to turn their season around.

Philadelphia Eagles Remaining Games
- Week 8: at Washington Commanders (SNF)
- Week 9: vs New York Giants
- Week 10: Bye Week
- Week 11: vs Pittsburgh Steelers
- Week 12: at Dallas Cowboys (Thanksgiving)
- Week 13: at Arizona Cardinals
- Week 14: vs Indianapolis Colts
- Week 15: vs Seattle Seahawks
- Week 16: vs Houston Texans (TNF)
- Week 17: at San Francisco 49ers (SNF)
- Week 18: at New York Giants
4) Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens suffered a devastating second-half collapse against the Bengals, allowing 35 unanswered points after leading 13-0 at halftime.

Baltimore Ravens Team Profile
- 2025 Record: 8-9
- Division Finish: 2nd in AFC North
- Head Coach: Jesse Minter
- Offensive Coordinator: Declan Doyle
- Defensive Coordinator: Anthony Weaver
- Stadium: M&T Bank Stadium
- 2026 Record: 4-3
The Baltimore Ravens have lost their last two divisional games after holding double-digit halftime leads in both. The Ravens are 4-3 but are currently last in the AFC North. The Ravens have played their last three games without star quarterback Lamar Jackson, who has been dealing with a high-ankle sprain.

Baltimore will face an uphill battle to make the playoffs and need the two-time MVP healthy. The Ravens' defense has allowed 167 points in the first seven games of the season under first-year head coach Jesse Minter. The Ravens need to improve offensively and defensively to pull ahead of the Browns, Steelers, and Bengals in the division race.

Baltimore Ravens Remaining Games
- Week 8: at Buffalo Bills
- Week 9: vs Jacksonville Jaguars (TNF)
- Week 10: vs Los Angeles Chargers (MNF)
- Week 11: at Carolina Panthers
- Week 12: at Houston Texans
- Week 13: Bye Week
- Week 14: vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Week 15: at Pittsburgh Steelers
- Week 16: vs Cleveland Browns
- Week 17: at Cincinnati Bengals (TNF)
- Week 18: vs Pittsburgh Steelers
3) Houston Texans
The Texans lost an overtime heartbreaker against the New York Giants to fall to 2-5 on the season.

Houston Texans Team Profile
- 2025 Record: 12-5
- Division Finish: 2nd in AFC South
- Head Coach: DeMeco Ryans
- Offensive Coordinator: Nick Caley
- Defensive Coordinator: Matt Burke
- Stadium: NRG Stadium
- 2026 Record: 2-5
The Houston Texans are quickly becoming one of the NFL's biggest disappointments, sitting at 2-5 through the first seven games of the season. The biggest issue has been an inconsistent offense, with a struggling offensive line that hasn't established a reliable running game, making it hard to sustain drives. Quarterback CJ Stroud has played well, but poor protection and a struggling run game have limited the offense's ability to take over games.

Houston's defense has also regressed significantly, allowing 20 or more points in six of its first seven games after being one of the best units in football last year. The Texans are 0-4 at home and need to start winning games fast to turn their season around.

Houston Texans Remaining Games
- Week 8: Bye Week
- Week 9: at Los Angeles Chargers
- Week 10: at Cleveland Browns
- Week 11: vs Indianapolis Colts (TNF)
- Week 12: vs Baltimore Ravens
- Week 13: at Pittsburgh Steelers (SNF)
- Week 14: at Washington Commanders
- Week 15: vs Jacksonville Jaguars
- Week 16: at Philadelphia Eagles (TNF)
- Week 17: at Green Bay Packers (MNF)
- Week 18: vs Tennessee Titans
2) Carolina Panthers
The Panthers were embarrassed on Sunday, falling 43-13 at home to division rival Tampa Bay.

Carolina Panthers Team Profile
- 2025 Record: 8-9
- Division Finish: 1st in NFC South
- Head Coach: Dave Canales
- Offensive Coordinator: Brad Idzik
- Defensive Coordinator: Ejiro Evero
- Stadium: Bank of America Stadium
- 2026 Record: 3-3
The Carolina Panthers' playoff chances took a major hit Sunday after they got blown out by Tampa Bay. They allowed 258 yards rushing; this was the second time this season they have allowed over 250 rushing yards. The Panthers' offensive line has struggled all season, and quarterback Bryce Young has been constantly pressured.

Carolina committed four turnovers, which practically gift-wrapped Tampa Bay this game. The Panthers have struggled with injuries all season, missing key players like left tackle Ikem Ekwonu, right tackle Taylor Moton, and cornerbacks Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson. Young players will need to step up this season in order for the Panthers to repeat as NFC South champions.

Carolina Panthers Remaining Games
- Week 8: at Green Bay Packers (TNF)
- Week 9: vs Denver Broncos
- Week 10: at New Orleans Saints
- Week 11: vs Baltimore Ravens
- Week 12: at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (MNF)
- Week 13: at Minnesota Vikings
- Week 14: vs New Orleans Saints
- Week 15: vs Cincinnati Bengals
- Week 16: at Pittsburgh Steelers
- Week 17: vs Seattle Seahawks
- Week 18: vs Atlanta Falcons
1) Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers are the only winless team, sitting at 0-6 after losing six games in each of the last two seasons.

Los Angeles Chargers Team Profile
- 2025 Record: 11-6
- Division Finish: 2nd in AFC West
- Head Coach: Jim Harbaugh
- Offensive Coordinator: Mike McDaniel
- Defensive Coordinator: Chris O'Leary
- Stadium: SoFi Stadium
- 2026 Record: 0-6
The Los Angeles Chargers have been the NFL's most disappointing team, sitting at 0-6 after entering the year with legitimate playoff aspirations. Their offense has consistently failed to produce points under new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel. Quarterback Justin Herbert has been awful, with five touchdowns and eight interceptions in his first six games.

The Chargers average just 15 points per game, the lowest in the NFL. Herbert remains talented enough to lead a turnaround, but until the offensive line improves and the turnovers stop, Los Angeles has little reason for optimism.

Los Angeles Chargers Remaining Games
- Week 8: at Los Angeles Rams
- Week 9: vs Houston Texans
- Week 10: at Baltimore Ravens (MNF)
- Week 11: vs New York Jets
- Week 12: vs New England Patriots (SNF)
- Week 13: at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Week 14: at Las Vegas Raiders
- Week 15: vs San Francisco 49ers (TNF)
- Week 16: at Miami Dolphins
- Week 17: vs Kansas City Chiefs
- Week 18: at Denver Broncos
