Chiefs-Broncos Matchup Points Toward a Defensive Battle

The Chiefs are favored on the road against the Broncos, with many expecting Kansas City to bounce back as bettors turn toward Denver. However, the Broncos are home underdogs against a Patrick Mahomes-led team that scored three points against the Seahawks and failed to reach the red zone for the first time in a game started by Mahomes.

Either team could win because this looks like a defensive matchup. The preferred play is the under, especially with Mahomes facing Denver’s pass rush and pass defense.

There is also little confidence in Bo Nix, who struggled against the Arizona Cardinals outside of a 62-yard touchdown run. Although the Broncos continue to win, their overall play has not been convincing.

Denver’s offensive line has been adequate, but its run defense, rushing offense and passing attack have all struggled. The Broncos’ pass defense is the one clear strength they can rely on entering this matchup.
