Colts Present an Ultimate Buy-Low Opportunity Against Minnesota
After losing at home to Tennessee and firing their general manager, the Colts head to Minnesota as 5.5-point underdogs against a Vikings team coming out of a bye.
The Colts are the ultimate buy-low team in this matchup. Taking Indianapolis may not be appealing, but backing Minnesota would go against the buy-low approach. The options are to take the Colts or stay away from the game.
A coaching change can provide a temporary boost because players may take the firing personally and feel motivated to respond. That effect often works during the first game before fading, although this situation is different because the Colts fired their general manager.
Indianapolis is still capable of winning six or seven games and is not the worst team in the NFL. That makes the Colts a possible buy-low play, with a final decision to come Friday.
The opposite approach worked with Tampa Bay last week. Although the Buccaneers could have beaten Pittsburgh, it was time to sell high after their previous win. Pittsburgh was fortunate, but it won and covered.
Arizona is another surprise team that could be a sell-high candidate. The Cardinals face Denver, though Denver’s inability to score makes that matchup less appealing.
