Is Jalen Hurts the Eagles' QB in 2027? Tough Questions Ahead!

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From Outspoken With Dan Sileo

Jalen Hurts’ Future in Philadelphia Remains an Open Question

Will Jalen Hurts still be Philadelphia’s starting quarterback in 2027? The short answer is probably not, although it is a difficult question.

Hurts has won a Super Bowl, is a very good player and brings heart, dedication and leadership to the locker room. From that perspective, the Eagles could feel good about him continuing to lead the team. The immediate priority, however, is getting him healthy enough to play football again, especially after the issues involving the clot in London.

From an X’s and O’s standpoint, Hurts has not been an elite passer over the past three seasons. That has shown up on tape and during games, and Eagles fans have watched it closely.

His contract structure will also factor into the decision. If Philadelphia eventually moves on, the next question is where the team turns. The upcoming quarterback draft class does not look great, while bringing in another veteran would mean replacing a quarterback who has already won a Super Bowl for the franchise.

As for the Cowboys, their win broke the Eagles’ spirit, but it is still too soon to buy into Dallas. The Cowboys appear to have the necessary pieces, but they need to prove themselves against formidable opponents.
