Jets vs. Patriots Preview: Picks, Odds and Key Matchups

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From NFL Pro Football Today

Patriots Favored in Division Matchup Against the Jets

The New York Jets visit the New England Patriots this week for a division battle after earning a big home win over the Cleveland Browns. The Jets played some of their best defense in a long time, shutting down Deshaun Watson and company, although torrential rain made throwing the ball difficult.

New England presents a much tougher challenge. The Patriots are favored by 7.5 points at home, and that line might have been closer to 5.5 or 6.5 if the game were in New York.

AJ Brown is expected to return for New England. His availability suggests he is ready to contribute, while Drake May has rediscovered his downfield passing game over the past couple of weeks. Efton Chisholm and Pop Douglas have also stepped up as contributors.

Trayvon Henderson is expected to play, though Ramondre could still see plenty of work. With New England’s offense finding solutions and adding another weapon, the Patriots are in a strong position to control the game and cover the 7.5-point spread.

For a touchdown prop, Efton Chisholm at plus 350 offers an appealing return. His role has grown gradually, and he appears to fit what Josh McDaniel likes to do offensively. While it is too early to compare his career with Wes Welker or Julian Edelman, Chisholm could become another player in that mold. If Drake May continues to gain confidence in him, his development is worth watching.
