Joe Montana’s Unmatched Presence on the Football Field

Seeing Joe Montana on the sidelines brought back memories of his calm, unmistakable presence. When the conversation turns to the greatest quarterbacks of all time, many people point to Brady, but I played against Montana and saw him firsthand. There was nobody like him on a football field.

What made Montana special was that he was always “Joe Cool.” Playing for him must have been a privilege. From start to finish, the entire experience was the privilege of a lifetime.

Montana was also hilarious Sunday night at Tina’s induction, and the event was exceptionally well done.

There is something to be said for a quarterback who can take the field, do his job and leave holding your heart in his hand. He will not crush it, but he will take it out and show it to you. That was Joe Montana.
