Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield and Davante Adams Injury Outlooks

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From Game Time Decisions

Baker Mayfield Trending Up as Rams’ Injury Concerns Mount

Baker Mayfield received a positive outlook for returning to practice Wednesday. Lamar Jackson’s status remains less certain despite previous reports that he could have finished a game, returned the following week, or played last week. A return next week appears more realistic for Jackson.

The Rams are 2-4, but Doctor Chow said it is too early to write them off. Devonte Adams could miss a couple of months, while the team is also dealing with several defensive-line injuries, including Miles Garrett and Puna Ford. Pukunakua is managing hip and groin issues, along with a possible core muscle concern.

The Rams could still put themselves in position to contend by reaching the playoffs at 8-9 or 9-8 and getting healthy at the right time. Although they are no longer the Super Bowl favorite, they could remain dangerous if they make the postseason with their injured players back.

The 49ers have also played well through injuries, but another injury could change their outlook. At this stage, it remains too early to dismiss any team.
