Liga MX Femenil Playoff Race: Monterrey Leads the Way

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From LatiNation Futbol Club

Monterrey Leads a Tight Liga MX Femenil Playoff Race

With the playoffs approaching, Monterrey leads the standings after Jornada 10 with 27 points. Tigres and América are close behind with 25 points each. América leads Group B, followed by Chivas with 21 points, while Juárez is in playoff position in Group A.

The rivalry between Monterrey and Tigres remains one of the competition’s most exciting storylines. Only two points separate the teams, while Toluca and Juárez are also within reach. The close margins have made Group A especially competitive.

América and Chivas are disputing the top spot in Group B. The leading contenders have scored in bunches, making goal differential a possible tiebreaker. Although Monterrey has the highest point total, it defeated América by only one goal. América’s defense also conceded three goals against Monterrey earlier in the season, which could become an issue in the playoffs.

Pumas is another team to watch after moving into fourth place in Group B. Under the restructured format, only the top four teams from each group advance, increasing the importance of every remaining match.

A potential first-round matchup between América and Juárez could be dangerous for the Group B leader. Juárez has enjoyed a strong tournament and previously made things difficult for Tigres in the playoffs. With the leading teams all in good form, postseason success could depend on mental strength and roster depth, especially if star players become unavailable.

Monterrey and Tigres are also fighting for first place in their group. Finishing first could help one of them avoid Chivas or América in the opening round and instead face an opponent such as Atlas, Pumas or San Luis.

Among the upcoming fixtures, Monterrey has an opportunity to separate itself from the competition. Puebla versus Tijuana features teams trying to remain in the race, while Pumas against Atlas stands out as the game of the weekend. Both teams are fighting for fourth place, and the result could determine which side has the stronger chance of reaching the playoffs.
