#2 Novak Djokovic vs. #6 Andrey Rublev
As Novak Djokovic embarks on his quest for a fifth U.S. Open and 25th career slam, Andrey Rublev is simply looking to reach his first semifinal at a grand slam in his career. The Russian has a lone victory out of six tries over Joker, which came in the Belgrade Final in 2022 on clay. With four defeats to the Serbian on hard surfaces, it'll be a tall task for him to pull off the upset to reach that coveted semifinal.

#1 Jannik Sinner vs. #5 Daniil Medvedev
This would undoubtedly be the matchup of the quarters if all were to take place. With Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev possessing lanky, awkward builds compared to most high-level men, it would make for a fascinating match that would surely go longer than three sets. While Meddy dominated the first six meetings, Sinner took five of the previous six, including the Australian Open final back in January.
#3 Carlos Alcaraz vs. #7 Hubert Hurkacz
It would be a tall task for Hubert Hurkacz, who is currently playing at the peak ranking of his career, to knock off arguably the best player on the men's side right now. Carlos Alcaraz is a perfect 3-0 against Hurkacz and has dropped just two of eight sets against him. We could see some seriously long sets here due to Hurkacz's dominance with his service. Of those eight sets between these two, five of them have gone the distance without a break.

#4 Alexander Zverev vs. #8 Casper Ruud
This could be a sneakily entertaining matchup, given how even the career head-to-head has been between these two. Each of the past two meetings has come at Roland Garros in the semifinals, where they split the difference, while Alexander Zverev holds a 3-1 advantage over Casper Ruud on hard courts. He would be the clear favorite here as Ruud prefers clay, the surface where he has won 11 of his 12 titles on the ATP Tour.
