MLB AL Odds Power Rankings: Rangers Rising, Yankees Falling

Zack Cook

Host · Writer

The Tampa Bay Rays are still the class of the American League, but the Texas Rangers have continued to rise on a weekly basis.

Below are the top ten favorites to win the AL.

Stay ahead of the game and elevate your sports betting experience with SportsGrid and our daily MLB game picks.

1. Tampa Bay Rays +230 (Last week: +240)

The Tampa Bay Rays continue to boast the best record in baseball at 51-24, along with the second-best run differential at +143. Even though the Rays are a middling 5-5 over their last ten games, they’ve still seen their odds to win the American League bet down from +240 to +230.

2. Houston Astros +400 (Last week: +360)

It’s not often that you see the Houston Astros go on a big losing streak, but that’s been the case over the last week. The defending World Series champs have lost five in a row, leading to their odds dropping from +360 to +400 to repeat as AL champs.

3. Texas Rangers +500 (Last week: +700)

The Texas Rangers haven’t been perfect of late, with a 5-5 record, but they have won three straight games. Texas has seen their odds to win the American League once again bet down as a result, moving from +700 to +500.

4. New York Yankees +750 (Last week: +700)

Are the New York Yankees relying on Aaron Judge too much on offense? With the reigning AL MVP out of the lineup, the Bronx Bombers have lost four in a row and seven of their last ten, leading to their odds dropping slightly from +700 to +750.

5. (Tie) Toronto Blue Jays +1000 (Last week: +800)

After a strong end to May and beginning of June, the Toronto Blue Jays have really struggled to find consistency as the end of another month looms. The Blue Jays have lost three in a row and seven of ten, leading to their odds falling from +800 to +1000 over the last week.

5. (Tie) Minnesota Twins +1000 (Last week: +800)

The Minnesota Twins are the leaders of the AL Central, almost by default. Minnesota fell under .500 and now sits at just 36-37 on the campaign. With their recent struggles, the Twins have seen their odds of winning the American League drop from +800 to +1000.

7. (Tie) Baltimore Orioles +1700 (Last week: +1800)

Consistency has been key for the majority of the year for the Baltimore Orioles, and last week was no different. The O’s have posted a 7-3 record over their last ten and have seen their AL odds bet down again from +1800 to +1700.

7. (Tie) Los Angeles Angels +1700 (Last week: +2000)

If you’re looking for one of the hotter teams in the big leagues, look no further than the Los Angeles Angels. They’re coming off a loss but have still won seven of their last ten, which has led their odds of winning the Pennant getting bet down from +2000 to +1700.

9. Seattle Mariners +3000 (Last week: +3000)

There hasn’t been a lot of memorable action surrounding the Seattle Mariners following a middling 35-35 record. After making the playoffs last season, it’s looking more and more like a longshot the M’s are competitive in the AL this season, where they continue owning +3000 odds.

10. Cleveland Guardians +4000 (Last week: +3700)

The Cleveland Guardians remain right in the running for the AL Central crown, where they sit just two games back of Minnesota. Still, the Guardians haven’t done anything to separate themselves, dropping off slightly from +3700 to +4000.
