Election Night Prediction Markets Track Key Senate Races

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From Game Time Decisions

Prediction Markets Highlight Key Election-Night Discrepancies

In Kansas, with $12 million in value on Calci, Republican Roger Marshall moved up about four percentage points to 30%, while Adam Hamilton stood at 70%. Both candidates remain relatively unfamiliar.

Michigan showed a similar shift, with Mike Rogers moving from 14% to 17% and Abdul El Sayed at 83%. That market had $39 million in value. Tallarico and Paxton stood at 73% and 27%, respectively, although the movement was not considered significant.

In the markets for control of the House and Senate, the Democrats held steady at roughly 79% to 80% for a sweep. A split between the House and Senate stood at 15%, while the chance of a Republican sweep increased from 3% to 3.4%.

With the next East Coast polls set to close at 7:30, attention also turned to several races with discrepancies between prediction markets and polling. In Nebraska, independent Osborne is challenging incumbent Ricketts. The market placed Ricketts at approximately 65% to 70%, while the latest polls showed the race at about 50-50.

Those differences are similar to handicapping a sport or team, where discrepancies can identify areas worth watching. Ohio, Alaska, and North Carolina also showed gaps between market expectations and leading polls, making them key races to monitor through the top of the hour.
