FedEx St. Jude Championship PGA Best Bets
Rory McIlroy
It’s not hard to get excited about the possibility of Rory McIlroy getting back in the win column this week. McIlroy was dialed in with his irons at the Olympics, which is bad news for the rest of the field in a tournament where he’s found immense success. McIlroy finished in the top 10 in three of his last seven appearances at this course. There’s real value in him taking down this event.
Best Bets: McIlroy to Win Outright (+1000)
Tommy Fleetwood
After winning a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Tommy Fleetwood would look to continue playing strong golf this week in a deep field of golfers. Fleetwood has been the definition of a consistent presence this season, which holds value in this type of setting. In addition, we’ve already seen him finish inside the top five twice at this event. Sign us up for his price.
Best Bet: Fleetwood to Win Outright (+3000)
Scottie Scheffler
After his come-from-behind victory to win gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Scottie Scheffler is right back at it this week as the favorite in the field. What’s scary is that although Scheffler took down the gold, he didn’t even have his best stuff. Scheffler’s odds to win aren’t overly appealing as a sizable favorite, but avoiding him on your card in a signature event is hard.
Best Bet: Scheffler to Win Outright (+330)
FedEx St. Jude Championship PGA Longshots
Alex Noren
It’s a lot to ask Alex Noren to finish first in a field like this, so we’re not going to do that. Instead, we’ll target Noren to finish inside the top ten, which has plenty of value. Noren has made the cut in 19 of his last 22 cuts, and he already had a top-15 finish at this event back in 2019. This number is a little longer than we’d have come to expect, which is a big positive.
Best Bet: Noren Top Ten Finish (+500)
Sepp Straka
It’s not difficult to view Sepp Straka as one of the most underrated players on the PGA Tour this season. We won’t ask much of him this week, but a top-20 finish fits nicely on our card. Straka has played well on courses with Bermuda greens, and he even nailed a second-place finish at this event two years ago. If you want to go as high as the top 10, we won’t fight you on that.
Best Bet: Straka Top 20 Finish (+145)
