It's cold in the Northeast right now. We don't like this. It's the month of November. Like times are starting to shift over. The days are getting shorter, and if you have to put those sticks away for the winter, at least you wanna watch some action on TV. I'm Donny right side. He's Joe Ranieri. Now we're bring in Keith Stewart, a resident PGA professional, to keep us in the know in golf. How's it been going, Keith? Donnie, Joe, you know what, the winds of change are coming on the PGA Tour and the guys are gonna feel it this weekend out there in Bermuda. Boy, is it gonna blow. Yeah, by the way, yeah, that's a pretty good feeding right there. By the way, we, we haven't talked to you in a while, so we need to keep up to date on all the PJ activities. But first, let's get to the Butterfield Bermuda championship. This is from the island of Bermuda this week. We take a look at Port Royal Golf Course. Start with us here, Keith. The expectations of these golfers and how this actual tournament sets up with the place that they're playing. Well, guys, here's the underlying story right now. The top 100 get their tour cards for next year. We've got 2 events left on the PGA Tour. So if you travel to Bermuda, you are concerned about that top 100 cut line on the FedEx Cup points list. The guys that are out there, yes, not necessarily the greatest strength the field, only 9 players in the top 100 in the world. Recent winner, Michael Brennan is the lowest ranked guy at 40, but you know what? There is a A lot of subplots going on. Last year we had the winner, Rafael Campos, never won before. Hadn't made a cut in like all of 2024, and he broke through. The year before, Camilo Vilegas. This event gives us a lot of suspense, a lot of drama, and with the weather they have concocted this weekend out there in the forecast, I mean, these guys playing there on the west coast of Bermuda are going to have their hands full and a lot of pressure to go along with it. Yeah, it's funny, Keith, you, we talked last time we talked to you, we said, you know, this, this little mini season is a good time to get some of these guys at 100 to 1, you know, yeah, thanks, Ben Griffin, appreciate that last week. Uh, but am I missing something here, Keith? 6800 yards for a PGA Tour event? Like what is with this golf course here? What's gonna win it? 30 under? Well, Joe, I mean, let's not jump out of your chair down there in Florida, OK? You know, places like Pebble Beach, these coastal golf courses, that can be weather affected. They have to be a little bit on the shorter side. I mean, last week it was 7400 yards and the guy shot 29 under. So, you know, don't, don't get too, don't get too hung up on the length. By the way, you know, I don't begrudge Ben Griffin in the. putt at the pro core when we did have him, I begrudge him now because Garrick Higgo hit it in the weeds and I had him last week. I digress. Let's move on to Bermuda. But here's the deal, right? Don't get caught up on the 6800 yards or the par 71. This golf course, right? Couple of Keith's keys for you guys. You can get yourself in trouble here in the wind. very hilly, you know, Bermuda as an island is the top of a volcano. That's the rim there that is the surface of the actual grass. It's super hilly, the terrain and this wind that we keep talking about, or I'm alluding to, it's going to be 20, 30+ miles an hour over the weekend, right? It's coming out of the west. Well, I got good news for you, Joe. The golf course sits on the West Coast. That's actually bad news. These guys are going to get blown away on that back nine. It's going to be super challenging. So for Keith's Keys this week, I'm definitely looking at a birdie to bogey ratio. They're going to make tons of birdies, but they got to stay away from those bogies. The second thing is, is that approach play has been the thing here and especially with your wedge. Now, you talk about the length of this golf course. It's short, so you end up with a lot of short clubs that hit the ball, what? High? And it's windy. So that's kind of the crux of the issue here. The challenge that these guys face. They have to be able to fly their wedges. They have to be able to control their spin. And then the third thing is, is that this is grainy island Bermuda grass, much like the past Pala last week in Mexico. These guys have got to be able to put Bermuda, you know, the guys that are good down in Florida, the guys that are good on these coastal golf courses like Sea Island next week, those are the guys that were interested. Those are 3 key skis for this week. Let's go with the early leans on the early lines to make some money here. Richard Hoey, I see here at least said fan who had a 19 to 1 price here to win it. You're getting some good options, Keith, who are your options this week? I don't like Ricky Ricky Hoy as the favorite, and I'll tell you why. You can't gain with the putter. You know, the guy's a brilliant ball striker, but you've got to be able to putt this week. I just brought it up. So I'm going to go down a little bit further, and some of the odds boards this morning, like DraftKings had Niko Echevarria up at + 3000. He's coming off a 9th, a 14th there in Mexico, and then, you know what, he is a great Bermuda grass putter, a great wedge player, and he's trending. The second guy, Sammy Valla. Rocky, who I like to call Sammy Vala making us money, right, Joe? I mean, this guy, he's sitting right at plus 5000 this morning, middle of the board. You talk about these long shots. You got to remember, if you go after a guy that's 100 to 1 this week, he's normally 300 to 1 in a normal field. So these guys at 50, 60, 40, these are the guys that are usually right around triple digits, but due to the strength of the field, I love Sammy Valimaki. He was runner-up last week to Ben Griffin, lost by a couple of strokes, but the guy made 30 birdies. He's a great approach player and he's great with long par threes, which is one of the very good keys for this week out there in Bermuda. Mm Talk to me about the old guys though, because you talked about a top 100, right? That's what it's all about. Well, Matt Kuccher is 110, I think last I saw here, so he's got two events to try to climb into it. What is he? 40 to 50 to 1? He had a good showing last week and he loves those island courses like you said. What about Cooch? Joe, this is a great grab and a great read for yourself. I mean, he was great at Sedgefield at Wingha. He missed the playoffs, but then this fall, he's been very, very good. I met him last week as an outright in Mexico, and you know what? I, I tell you what, it was a little bit of a heartbreaker because I had him for a top 10. He had an eagle putt on the final hole. He leaves it on the edge, makes birdie. Finishes T 11, but you know what though? He's trending and he's the type of guy over there, Brendan Todd, Camila Vijagas, you know, Seamus Power, you know, these guys that are great wedge players, great putters, don't hit it necessarily very far, but you don't have to. You brought up the 6800 yards. I love me a little cooch this week. The human ATM has been collecting all fall. How about this, Keith, let's take a look at some of the future events on the PGA Tour, maybe non-sanctioned events. We're getting the, you know, the Skins game back on Black Friday. But you know what I like about this? Smart by the PGA. Don't put this on at 3:30 in the afternoon when we're watching football. Give it to us in the morning, Keith. A 9 a.m. start for Shawflake, Thomas, Bradley, and Fleetwood. Smart PGA, smart. Well, I tell you what, they chose the East Coast for the venue, right? Golf's played in the morning. They're getting the golfers before all the other sports take over. NHL, NFL, you mentioned Donnie. They have a great crew. They've got some guys that can add some candor, and that's always been kind of the, the issue with these. Matchplay events that are made for TV is that we've got JT, we've got Xander, we've got Keegan, we've got, you know, we've got some guys that are gonna be comfortable with one another and create some banter. I love where they're going with the skins game and we've got the hero of the week after that. So don't stop watching your golf. We got more to come. We do, Keith, real quick here. Tiger Woods, does he swing competitively next year in 2026? Come on now. What do we got? Of course he does. He's Tiger Woods.
