This is disgusting. The Dodgers get Edwin Diaz. Come on already. Like, like they're just pouring it on. Like the rich get richer here and this is like the only issue that they had was finding a guy for the 9th. 0, by the way, they signed a guy from the 9th last year for Tanner Scott. They're just going to discard him probably. Like it doesn't even matter. I don't know. I mean, great for Edwin Diaz, great for Dodgers fans, but like, are they going to sign Kyle Tucker too? Maybe, right? Uh, I don't know. I, I feel like, you know, the way that I interpret the offseason and the free agent market is you can really condense the free agent market for guys that are gonna make 9 figures or guys that are gonna make over 150 million, you can condense that to 7 or 8 suitors at this point, and that is obviously something that Major League Baseball wants to address at some point and it seems like some point soon. But what I will say about Edwin Diaz, there are a couple of elements here that intrigue me. Number 1, Relatively speaking, and I know it's crazy to say about a 3 year, $69 million deal, it didn't cost a ludicrous amount of money to go get Edwin Diaz, especially when you look at what Devin Williams got from the New York Mets about a week and a half ago. Devin Williams got 3 for $50 million. Edwin Diaz just got 3 for $69 million. So that's about $8 million a year that you add on to Devin Williams, and I ask you, And I know that it's greater than an ERA conversation and a blown saves conversation. Would you rather have Edwin Diaz for 8 million more a year? Would you rather try it with Devin Williams, who's 3 or 4 years younger than Edwin Diaz is? I personally, if I were the Mets, would prefer to have the best closer in the game, or at least one of the best closers in the game, instead of the $50 million reclamation project, albeit the stuff is way better than a reclamation project. Number two, the Dodgers had literally one weakness and they attacked it. Like that, that's my big thing. Every single offseason, Andrew Friedman, Brandon Gomes, the general manager, they go into the offseason saying, what did our flawless team have exposed? What is the trace amount of flaw that we have on this roster, and they fill it. You know, usually it's bombarding the starting pitching market and going to acquire Tyler Glassow or Blake Snell or signing Rokki Sasaki in international free agency. Uh, you know what, the bullpen crumbled on them over the last two months of the season and the entirety of the postseason and. Uh, they alleviated that by going to get the best closer in the game.
