Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From Outspoken With Dan Sileo

Mets and Padres Emerge as Potential Landing Spots for Soto

Japanese player Soto is drawing interest, with the Mets, Padres and possibly the Mariners among the teams that could pursue him.

The Mets could use help at both first base and third base. The Padres could also be a strong fit because first baseman Ty France is a free agent. Seattle remains a possibility, while San Francisco does not appear to be a fit.

The Dodgers are unlikely to need Soto because they already have first base and third base locked up.

Soto should receive a solid contract, particularly from teams that missed out on Murakami. After Murakami signed for two years and $34 million, Soto could command at least a five-year deal approaching $100 million.
