Mavs vs Celtics Thursday Prediction | NBA Picks Today, Best Bets

The Dallas Mavericks are set for an NBA Finals rematch against the Boston Celtics on Thursday night. Dallas enters this matchup with a new-look roster following the blockbuster trade to land Anthony Davis from the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Luka Doncic. There’s a chance that Davis will be available for this matchup, and if he can suit up in his new threads, it’ll only add to this must-see matchup with Kyrie Irving headed back to a hostile environment in TD Garden. On the flip side, the Celtics have seemingly put their struggles in the past as they’ve strung together a four-game winning streak, including a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday in Cleveland, where Boston never lost the lead once taking it.

Mavericks vs Celtics Best Bet: Celtics -10
The Celtics have desperately been looking to put their inconsistencies in the past after a horrid month of January. Despite their struggles, Joe Mazzulla’s squad stayed the course and have seemingly found their way out of the storm just in time to get things clicking ahead of the All-Star break. Not only do the C’s have the luxury of not being expected to make any significant moves at the deadline, but their injury report of one player, in comparison to the Mavs’ laundry list, is also on their side. I’ll take the Celtics in a blowout win in front of their home fans.
Mavericks vs Celtics Best Total Bet: Over 229
The Celtics outlasted the Mavericks in Dallas 122-107 in the last matchup between these two squads. This matchup could have a similar game script this time, with Boston playing ahead most of the game. Assuming the Celtics’ offense comes out firing on all cylinders with the juice from the home crowd fueling them, Boston alone should be able to account for more than half the set total. A final score of 124-109 seemed like a realistic outcome.
Mavericks Best Player Bet: Kyrie Irving 6+ Assists +135
Kyrie Irving slots back into the familiar role of primary ball handler for the Mavericks after the Doncic trade. Not only will that give the Duke product a chance to spread the ball around more, but adding a dominant big man like Davis in the frontcourt is a luxury that Irving has never had. If the big man can suit up, Irving will likely make it a point of emphasis to get his new co-star plenty of touches.
Celtics Best Player Bet: Jayson Tatum 4+ Made Threes +115
Jayson Tatum enters this matchup averaging 26.8 points per game. Throughout the year, the superstar averages 3.6 threes per matchup while shooting an average of 10.1 shots beyond the arc on a nightly basis. With 4+ threes made in two of his last three games, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Tatum find his rhythm back home.
