Pelicans vs Thunder Wednesday Prediction | NBA Picks Today, Best Bets

The New Orleans Pelicans will be headed to Oklahoma for a Western Conference showdown against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Both teams entering this matchup are missing key pieces to their lineups due to injuries to Zion Williamson, Jose Alvarado, CJ McCollum and Chet Holmgren. Nonetheless, the NBA season keeps going, and each team will be looking to add another win to their record with a long year ahead.

Pelicans vs. Thunder Best Bet: Thunder -14.5

The Thunder have consistently been one of the best offenses in the league over the last two seasons. OKC’s young core plays at a fast pace and can stretch the floor at nearly every position. Oklahoma can score quickly, and even without Holmgren, the team’s offense will be hard to slow down, especially with the energy of their home fans behind them. That said, seeing the Thunder win by 20+ points wouldn’t be a surprise.

Pelicans vs. Thunder Best Total Bet: Over 223.5

Oklahoma City alone could score more than half of the 223.5-point set total. Meanwhile, the Pelicans offense will do what they can to stay close to the feisty young Thunder squad. In what could be a high-scoring spout between both teams, a final score of 123-108 could be a realistic outcome.

Pelicans Best Player Bet: Brandon Ingram to Score 25+ Points +110

Without Williamson, Brandon Ingram will be relied on more than he already was to carry the offensive load for the Pelicans. Fortunately for New Orleans, this is a matchup that Ingram could thrive in with no clear defender on the Thunder that can slow him down. The Duke product should be in for a big night where he could put up 25+ points as NOLA tries to keep pace with OKC.

Thunder Best Player Bet: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 2+ Steals +140

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is often recognized for his play on the offensive side of the ball, but the former Kentucky star is also an underrated defender. Between impressive perimeter defense and quick hands, the guard has served as a two-way star for the Thunder since joining the team. With the Pelicans likely having inexperienced guards help with ball-handling responsibilities, Gilgeous-Alexander could come out with more than a couple of steals.
