The Los Angeles Lakers travel to Sacramento for a one night road trip against the Sacramento Kings tonight. The Lakers, now 6-2 this season, won back-to-back home games earlier this week against the Toronto Raptors and Miami heat.
Lakers' point guard Luka Dončić continued his dominant start to the season by dropping 42 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds against the Heat. Dončić' season averages are now up to 38.3 points, 8.1 assists and 8.0 rebounds.
Shooting guard Austin Reaves dropped 27 points on 10-of-15 shooting in the win over the Heat as well. Reaves' efficient scoring effort was a good sign that he'd busted out of his recent scoring slump. He also went 4-for-5 from behind the arc in the win.
Lakers' center Walker Kessler proved once again how seamlessly he compliments Reaves and Dončić, finishing with 15 point and 15 rebounds.
The Kings are led offensively by star rookie Darius Acuff Jr. Acuff, known as a high-volume scorer coming out of Arkansas, is averaging 26.1 points, 6.3 assists, and 3.9 rebounds a game so far. However, he's only shooting 40.6% from the field this season.
Kings' shooting guard Zach Lavine is averaging 23.4 points per game, second to Acuff on the team.
Down low, the Kings are anchored by Damontas Sabonis, who is averaging 15 points and 14.6 rebounds per game this season.
Though they have few offensive standouts, the Kings are second-to-last in defensive efficiency. In every loss this Eason, they've given up at-least 121 points.
First Pick: Luka Dončić over 34.5 points
Rundown: Dončić is averaging over 38 points per game this season. In his last five games, Dončić put up 52-41-37-45-42. His incredible scoring run should continue tonight considering he'll be facing an awful defense with guards that are purely offensive-minded.
Second Pick: Walker Kessler over 10.5 rebounds
Rundown: Opposing centers average 12.8 rebounds per game against the Kings this season. Kessler has 43 rebounds in his last three games – which is an average of 14.3 rebounds per game. Kessler has another prime opportunity to control the glass against Sabonis (6'10).
