$500,000 on Duke at +350
So far, the biggest bet of the tournament comes on the Blue Devils, where one bettor dropped $500,000 at +350, hoping to cash in on Duke’s dominant run. And it’s easy to see why. Duke has steamrolled its first two opponents, including a 93–49 win over Mount St. Mary’s and an 89–66 dismantling of Baylor.
Powered by superstar freshman Cooper Flagg (18.7 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 4.2 APG), Duke ranks sixth in the nation in scoring defense (61.7 PPG allowed) while maintaining the 12th-best scoring offense (83.6 PPG). Their elite balance, depth, and two-way ability have vaulted them to the top of national title betting boards.
$100,000 on Florida at +900
Florida opened the tournament as a +4000 longshot but after two strong wins — including a narrow 77–75 victory over defending champion UConn — their odds have shortened dramatically. One bettor grabbed the Gators at +900 for $100,000, signaling sharp interest in their title chances.
Led by Walter Clayton Jr. (17.9 PPG, 4.2 APG) and a top-3 scoring offense (85.4 PPG), Florida is lethal in transition and deep across the board. They’re also 3rd nationally in team field goal percentage (47.3%) and top-10 in assists (15.9 APG). The Gators will need that offensive firepower to keep rolling through March.

$50,000 on Houston at +600
Known for their suffocating defense and tournament experience, Houston has been a popular futures pick all season — and a $50,000 wager at +600 reinforces that confidence. The Cougars allowed just 58.4 PPG, the fewest in Division I, and held Gonzaga to 76 points in a gritty Round of 32 win.
L.J. Cryer leads the Cougars in scoring (15.6 PPG), while Houston’s overall team defense remains unmatched. They rank 1st in opponent field goal percentage (38.4%), and top-5 in opponent assists (11.0 APG). With an Elite Eight berth on the line, the Cougars look like a team built for deep runs.
These massive bets reflect growing public and sharp support for the tournament’s top seeds and reveal who the sportsbooks fear most. If any of these teams cut down the nets in April, BetMGM could be facing a multi-million dollar payout.
