Louisville has been the surprise of the tournament thus far, throttling Indiana in the quarterfinal and taking care of business against West Virginia to reach this game. The Cardinals look well ahead of schedule, and it seems that head coach Pat Kelsey’s principles are already being instilled in his players as they have run and gun their way to the title game. The defense has been the most exciting aspect of this team. Point guard Chucky Hepburn has been a two-way superstar throughout this tournament, pouring in 32 points and snatching six steals in the victory over the Mountaineers. He has quickly become the team’s leader and has willed the team to this point.

As for Oklahoma, they have been calm and composed down the stretch in the biggest moments. Narrow victories over Providence and Arizona have helped them reach the title game, both games that felt like toss-ups entering the final minutes. Freshman Jeremiah Fears has been a catalyst at the point for this team, notching at least 20 points and five assists in his previous three games for the team. He is surrounded by loads of seniors in the rotation, which has been a massive help in bringing him on his way in his first handful of collegiate games.

While the Sooners are building something special with their squad, the Cardinals have been more impressive and have the veteran leadership to win a game like this. Hepburn should be in line for a big-time performance, and Kelsey has the team playing some inspired hoops. Back Louisville to cover this shorter number in the title game on Friday night.

The Pick: Louisville -3.5 (-110)
