Leg 1: TCU ML
I can’t get there with Utah State, and the spread tells me everything I need to know, as TCU is a 3.5-point favorite. While the Mountain West conference was no joke this season, I give more respect to the Big 12 teams in this tournament, and TCU played solid basketball all season. They boast more talent, have a better coach, and are more battle-tested. Trust the line, trust the Frogs.
Legs 2 & 3: Emanuel Miller 10+ Points, 4+ Rebounds
TCU’s Emanuel Miller has surpassed the ten-point mark in 29 of 33 games this season and has grabbed at least four rebounds in 15 of his last 16 games. Miller is the Horned Frogs’ best player, so we’ll trust him to pour in his most significant contributions on the biggest stage, as TCU won’t win if he puts up a dud.
Leg 4: Jameer Nelson Jr. 10+ Points
Another Jameer Nelson in March Madness? To those who enjoyed Nelson’s run with the 2004 St. Joseph’s Hawks, this probably makes you feel old. Jameer Nelson Jr. has had at least ten points in seven of his last ten games, but all three of his misses were nine-point outings. We’ll trust Nelson to channel his old man here with a solid performance in March.
Leg 5: Great Osobor 15+ Points
Great Osobor has been the Aggies’ best player all season, averaging 21.3 points per game across his past four games. While this game may be played slightly slower than some Mountain West track meets, Osobor will be entrusted to rack up 15 points.
Legs 6, 7, & 8: Darius Brown II 10+ Points, 4+ Rebounds, 4+ Assists
We’re targeting an all-around performance from Utah State’s Darius Brown II here to close out this parlay. Looking strictly at the numbers, he’s had at least ten points in 15 of his last 18 games, at least four rebounds in 12 of his previous 13 games, and at least four assists in 29 of 33 games this season. That’s good enough for me!
