College Basketball Crown: Best 3-Leg Parlay for Monday

After an exciting few weeks, March Madness is on a brief hiatus as teams gear up for the Final Four. In the interim, the inaugural College Basketball Crown gets underway, starting with a four-game slate on Monday afternoon. These are the three picks we’ve got highlighted for today’s action.

Best 3-Leg College Basketball Crown Parlay for Monday

Leg 1: Utah Utes vs Butler Bulldogs Over 156.5

Where to Watch Utah vs Butler

  • Arena: MGM Grand Garden Arena
  • Location: Las Vegas, NV
  • Where to Watch: FS1
  • Time: 3:00 p.m. ET
  • Spread: Utah -1.5 | Total: 156.5
  • Moneyline: Utah -120 | Butler +100
  • SportsGrid Matchup Page

The Utah Utes and Butler Bulldogs get things going Monday afternoon at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The betting line has shifted heavily in favor of the Utes, with a corresponding increase on the total. Nevertheless, there’s still an edge in getting a piece of the over.

Neither team prioritizes defense. Utah has given up at least 83 points in three of its past five. Identically, three of Butler’s last five opponents have recorded at least 80 points. Predictably, the Bulldogs have gone over in all three contests, with the Utes going north of the total in four of five.

Utah and Butler can make it rain from a distance. Considering their worsening defensive acumen, we’re betting on a scoring surge from both teams. This total should continue to ratchet higher, meaning now is the time to hop on the over.

Leg 2: Boise State -8.5

Where to Watch George Washington vs Boise State

  • Arena: MGM Grand Garden Arena
  • Location: Las Vegas, NV
  • Where to Watch: FS1
  • Time: 5:30 p.m. ET
  • Spread: Boise State -8.5 | Total: 141.5
  • Moneyline: Boise State -375 | George Washington +290
  • SportsGrid Matchup Page

The Boise State Broncos came up short in pursuing an NCAA Tournament berth, but their consolation prize could be the inaugural College Basketball Crown title. Their pursuit of that distinction begins in Monday’s clash versus the George Washington Revolutionaries.

It’s reflected in the betting line, but the Broncos have a substantial analytics advantage over the Revolutionaries. According to KenPom, George Washington operates the 150th-ranked offense and 102nd-ranked defense. Comparatively, Boise State checks in at 51st and 60th, respectively.

Practically, those metrics have carried the Revolutionaries and Broncos in very different directions. Boise State went on a late-season run, coming up short against the Colorado State Rams in the Mountain West Championship Game. Conversely, George Washington has just six wins over its past 12 games.

Boise State should have no problem building a comfortable lead, and we don’t expect the Broncos to relinquish it. Late free throws should help the Broncos pull away and easily cover the -8.5 spread.

Leg 3: Arizona State +5.5

Where to Watch Nebraska vs Arizona State

  • Arena: MGM Grand Garden Arena
  • Location: Las Vegas, NV
  • Where to Watch: FS1
  • Time: 11:00 p.m. ET
  • Spread: Nebraska -5.5 | Total: 155.5
  • Moneyline: Nebraska -205 | Arizona State +170
  • SportsGrid Matchup Page

The first day of the College Basketball Crown is highlighted by a Power Five showdown between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Arizona State Sun Devils. Nebraska is favored by 5.5, but the Huskers aren’t the type of team to build or maintain a staggering lead.

The Cornhuskers prioritize defensive basketball, which sometimes comes at the expense of their offensive efficiency. They rank 40th in the country in KenPom’s defensive rankings and a more distant 70th on offense. Nebraska has been held to 68 or fewer points in three of its previous four, dropping all four decisions.

Arizona State isn’t renowned for its offensive abilities, but it holds some advantages over the Cornhuskers. The Sun Devils play with more pace than their Big Ten counterparts, and they are much more efficient from three-point range. We expect them to play those cards against Nebraska.

While it may not be enough to steal the outright victory, ASU should be able to keep things close on Monday night. We’re betting they stay within 5.5 versus Nebraska in Las Vegas.
