The college basketball slate is light in ranked teams on Friday night, but there are still several exciting games and some fun player props to consider.
SportsGrid’s favorite player prop picks for Friday’s college basketball action are here.
10:00 p.m. ET – Nevada at San Jose State
Where to Watch: FS1 | Location: Provident Credit Union Event Center in San Jose, CA
The lone game with player prop recommendations from the SportsGrid model is a clash in San Jose between Nevada and the San Jose State Spartans. The Wolfpack are 21-6 but only 8-5 in the Mountain West, while San Jose State is near the bottom of the league at 2-12. Wolfpack star Jarod Lucas averages 17.1 points per game but only shoots 41.7 percent from the field. The market for Lucas in this game is 17.5 points, and the SportsGrid model has a 5-star play on Lucas going under that total and scoring only 14 against San Jose State. Lucas has shot below 40 percent from the field in four of the Wolfpack’s past seven games.
The other pick also involves a Nevada player, but this one is more optimistic, taking Nick Davidson over his line of 12.5 points. Davidson is the team’s top rebounder, with seven boards per game. He has also been putting the ball in the hoop recently, scoring above the 12-point mark in five of the past six games. The one game he failed to reach at least 13 points was the last outing, and he scored 11 points in only 25 minutes. The SportsGrid model projects Davidson to total 13.6 points and recommends the over.
SportsGrid’s Best Bets: Jarod Lucas – UNDER 17.5 points, Nick Davidson – OVER 12.5 | SportsGrid Projections: 5 stars
