Kentucky vs. Gonzaga Best Bet: Kentucky +5.5
Kentucky has looked like a completely different team under head coach Mark Pope this year than they did last year under John Calipari. This is partly due to the team bringing in seasoned college players and the fast pace with which the Wildcats play. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are no joke and look like a genuine threat to compete for a National Championship. Kentucky has the same aspirations, and they’ll look to make a statement against Gonzaga on the road. The Wildcats have already upset Duke this season, and they could carry the same chip on their shoulder as they enter as underdogs against the Bulldogs. While Kentucky may not win, they have a good chance to keep the deficit less than six points.
Kentucky vs. Gonzaga Best Total Bet: Over 163.5
Kentucky is one of the top-scoring teams in the nation as they enter this matchup, averaging 92.9 points per game. Conversely, Gonzaga trails just behind, averaging 90.4 points per contest. This game could quickly become a shootout and go to whatever team can find their rhythm early. That said, a final score of 87-83 could be a realistic outcome.
Kentucky Best Player Bet: Koby Brea 3+ Threes +146
Koby Brea transferred to Kentucky in the offseason mainly for his position in an offense that Mark Pope sold him on. The sharpshooter has the freedom to play his style of basketball, and more times than not, that confidence leads him to shoot the three balls, whether wide-open or contested. Averaging 60.5% from beyond the arc this season, it wouldn’t be a shock to see Brea shoot lights out in a big game, especially coming off a poor outing against Clemson on Tuesday.
Gonzaga Best Player Bet: Khalif Battle Over 5.5 Rebounds +112
Khalif Battle has been one of the best rebounders for the Bulldogs this season out of the backcourt. The six-foot-five guard seeks contact and has no issue getting chippy for rebounds. Against a Kentucky team that shoots a high volume, expect plenty of rebounds to be at Battle’s disposal. The guard is coming off one of his best rebounding games of the season, where he finished with six rebounds against Davidson.
