The Round of 64 continues in the NCAA Tournament on Friday, with some of the best teams set to face off for a chance to advance. With plenty of college basketball to see in a loaded slate of March Madness tonight, here’s a look at some of the top bets that could place you on the winning side ahead of the weekend.
March Madness Previews: East | South | West | Midwest
Troy @ Kentucky: Otega Oweh 20+ Points +125
- Otega Oweh has emerged as the go-to player for Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats, leading the team with 16.2 points per game.
- The six-foot-four guard is an underrated shooter, but his ability to manipulate the defense and get to his spot makes him a nightmare to defend. His impressive ability to score downhill is where most of his shots fall.
- Oweh has scored 20+ points in three of his last four games and four of his previous six.
New Mexico @ Marquette: Kam Jones 3+ Threes +135
- Kam Jones leads Marquette, averaging 19.3 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.5 rebounds, and I don’t expect him to stop being aggressive now.
- The versatile guard is a knockdown shooter, and his 6.1 three-point attempts per game prove he’s not afraid to pull up from deep.
- Jones has made 3+ threes in each of his last three games heading into this matchup.
Norfolk State @ Florida: Walter Clayton 20+ Points +140
- Many people consider the Florida Gator’s backcourt the best in the nation. Walter Clayton Jr leading the way is a testament to how impressive the senior guard has been.
- Clayton Jr. is averaging 17.5 points on the season, shooting 44.4% from field goal range and 37.7% from beyond the arc.
- Florida’s star enters this matchup with 20+ points in back-to-back games. He continues to play with the confidence that he and his team belong in the national championship game.
Xavier @ Illinois: Kasparas Jakucionis 2+ Threes +100
- Kasparas Jakucionis has been one of the best freshman players in the nation, averaging 15 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.6 assists.
- The six-foot-six guard shoots 44.7% from field goal range and 32.9% from beyond the arc on the season. Although his shooting splits aren’t flashy, the playmaker tends to make timely shots and elevate his play in big games.
- In his first March Madness appearance, I like the odds that the Lithuania product has an impressive performance, including a couple of made shots from three.
