Pinstripe Bowl: Nebraska vs. Duke - December 28
Nebraska is bowl-eligible for the first time since 2016. They head to New York for the Pinstripe Bowl and a matchup with the 9-3 Duke Blue Devils. It’s not a warm-weather destination, but the Huskers will just be happy to be bowling!
Las Vegas Bowl: USC Trojans vs. Florida Gators - December 27
USC limped to a 6-6 finish in their first season in the Big Ten, and there are real questions about Lincoln Riley’s program, but they did earn bowl eligibility. With the disintegration of the PAC-12, there will be an effort to keep West Coast and former PAC-12 teams in their traditional bowl games. The Trojans draw the Las Vegas Bowl and will battle the Florida Gators in a big-name bowl matchup.
Holiday Bowl - Washington Huskies vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets - December 27
It's not nearly as exciting as the National Championship Game, but the Washington Huskies still reached a bowl game in the first season under Jedd Fisch’s leadership. The Huskies are projected to the Holiday Bowl and would play Brent Key’s Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Rate Bowl: Rutgers Scarlet Knights vs. TCU Horned Frogs - December 26
After a midseason swoon, Rutgers closed strong and reached the seven-win mark. They are bowling again under Greg Schiano and continue to be a solid program under the veteran head coach. Rutgers projects to the Rate Bowl in Phoenix, a nice warm weather spot for the New Jersey school.
Duke's Mayo Bowl: Minnesota vs. Louisville - January 3
The Minnesota Golden Gophers were close to being involved in College Football Playoff discussions. They suffered an early-season heartbreaker with special teams mistakes against North Carolina, got screwed by poor officiating late against Michigan, and nearly had Penn State beat. They settle for a 7-5 season and are projected to the Duke’s Mayo Bowl in Charlotte.
Music City Bowl: Michigan Wolverines vs. Missouri Tigers - December 30
Michigan will not repeat as national champions, but the vibes right now in Ann Arbor have to be incredible. They landed stud quarterback Bryce Underwood, secured an impressive recruiting class on signing day, and stunned rival Ohio State to finish 7-5 with two straight wins to close the regular season. How about a trip to Nashville to celebrate the holidays and begin building towards a big 2025 season?

Reliaquest Bowl: Iowa Hawkeyes vs. South Carolina Gamecocks - December 31
The Iowa Hawkeyes ho-hummed their way to another 8-win season and a 6-3 record in the Big Ten. It’s never particularly exciting, but eight wins is nothing to scoff at, and they will likely be rewarded with another trip to Florida for a bowl game. This time, it’s the Reliaquest Bowl against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Cheez-It Citrus Bowl: Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Ole Miss Rebels - December 31
The Illinois Fighting Illini had one of their best seasons in recent memory, winning nine games, including six Big Ten victories. This was despite outscoring opponents by only ten points in the league, but they deserve credit for getting the job done. Bret Bielema’s crew is rewarded with a trip to the Citrus Bowl as four Big Ten teams make the College Football Playoff.
College Football Playoff 1st Round: (8) Ohio State vs. (9) Tennessee - December 20/21
Despite the stunning loss to Michigan, the Ohio State Buckeyes still get to host a first-round playoff game. This projection has them welcoming the Tennessee Volunteers to Columbus. The winner would attend the Rose Bowl for a quarterfinal matchup with Oregon.
College Football Playoff 1st Round: (10) Indiana at (7) Georgia - December 20/21
The Indiana Hoosiers finished the regular season at 11-1, a stunning achievement for the program in its first season under Curt Cignetti. IU will be rewarded with a trip to the College Football Playoff and a chance to shock the world in Athens against Georgia.
College Football Playoff 1st Round: (6) Penn State vs. (11) Alabama - December 20/21
This projection has Penn State losing to Oregon in the Big Ten Championship Game and drawing the six-seed in the College Football Playoff. That means the Nittany Lions would get a home game against the Alabama Crimson Tide and a chance to earn a spot in the quarterfinals.
Big Ten Championship Game: Oregon (-3.5) vs. Penn State
