The Missouri Tigers entered the season with high hopes, but after a bad loss early in the season, the Tigers have been fighting through competition, hoping to climb back up the rankings. They’ll have their chance to make a statement against an Alabama team dealing with their own issues after a 5-2 start for the first time since 2007. Expect this to be a tough battle between two SEC squads who desperately need a win to keep their playoff aspirations alive.
Missouri vs Alabama
- Location: Bryant-Denny Stadium (Tuscaloosa, Alabama) | Time: 3:30 PM ET
- Where to Watch: ABC/ESPN+
- Spread: Alabama -16.5, Moneyline: Alabama -900, Total: 51.5
Missouri vs Alabama Best Bet: Missouri +16.5
The Crimson Tide have struggled in the last few weeks following their loss to Vanderbilt. Since then, Alabama nearly lost at home to unranked South Carolina and dropped the ball in a big-time SEC showdown against Tennessee last weekend. With Missouri coming into town, it’s hard to trust Bama to win by a margin of at least 17 points to cover the spread.
Missouri vs Alabama Best Total Bet: Over 51.5
Both offenses, especially Alabama, have shown the ability to put points up quickly. If the Crimson Tide can get off to a strong start, Missouri will be forced to play aggressively to keep pace with Kalen DeBoer’s high-powered offense. That said, a final score of 33-23 could be a realistic outcome.
Missouri Best Player Bet: Theo Wease Jr. 50+ Receiving Yards +114
Theo Wease Jr. has been the focal point of the Tigers’ offense throughout the start of the season. The senior leads Missouri in receiving yards with 463 as one of the top pass-catching options. In five of the team’s seven games, Wease Jr. has totaled more than 50 receiving yards. Assuming Missouri is playing from behind, the Tigers may be forced to pass, putting the wideout in position to get over this mark.
Alabama Best Player Bet: Germie Bernard 70+ Receiving Yards +120
Germie Bernard joined the Crimson Tide over the offseason and since landing in Alabama, he’s broken out as a reliable receiver in the offense. Bernard has hit the 70 receiving-yard mark in the last three games. With his role increasing in the offense, the Washington transfer could be poised for a big day against the Tigers.
