  • Location: Michigan Stadium (Ann Arbor, Michigan)
  • Time: 12:00 p.m. ET | Where to Watch: FOX
  • Spread: Texas -7.5 | Moneyline: Texas -310 | Total: 42.5

Texas vs. Michigan Best Bet ATS: Wolverines +7.5 (-115)

The reigning national champions, the Michigan Wolverines, welcome the Texas Longhorns for a highly anticipated showdown. In Week 1, the Longhorns displayed their potential as national title contenders, while the Wolverines’ performance was somewhat lackluster. With this high-profile game on the horizon, it’s understandable that both teams might have struggled initially and been looking ahead to this clash. Texas boasts a formidable offense capable of winning games in multiple ways. However, Quinn Ewers will face a tough challenge against Michigan’s seasoned defense. With key players like Will Johnson in the secondary and rising star Mason Graham on the defensive line, the Longhorns may struggle to move the football consistently on the road here. Although the Wolverines’ offense doesn’t inspire great confidence, their ability to dominate the line of scrimmage should keep the game close. Expect the Longhorns to win, but the Wolverines will manage to cover the spread.

Texas vs. Michigan Best Bet Total: UNDER 42.5 (-110)

It’s pretty easy to state that the Wolverines didn’t look like a finished product on offense in Week 1. At the other end of the spectrum, the Longhorns came as advertised and looked explosive. The Wolverines have a clear edge in this matchup on defense, while the same can be said for the Longhorns on offense. Michigan has dealt with offenses like Texas before, and with their experience on defense, there are not many matchups that the Longhorns should be able to exploit. With the struggles we mentioned already revolving around Michigan’s offense in Week 1, keeping the Wolverines at bay shouldn’t be too big a task for Texas. We’re expecting a low-scoring affair in Ann Arbor.

Texas vs. Michigan Best Player Props

Michigan Wolverines Tight End Colston Loveland OVER 42.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

Colston Loveland is coming off a dominant showing in Week 1, catching eight passes for 87 yards and a touchdown. Loveland will be a significant focal point of the Wolverines offense in 2024, and he’s widely viewed as the top tight end in the country this year. Loveland provides a great safety blanket for a young Michigan quarterback room. We expect him to be targeted consistently in this matchup, even if the focus remains on running the football.
