The SMU Mustangs rise this season was impressive. As we stand right now, it's possible they return to the dance next year, but we'll say it's more in the unlikely category.

It was a great story what the Indiana Hoosiers accomplished this year. I don't think Cinderella strikes twice next year. The Hoosiers will be good, but not College Football Playoff good again.

There's no reason to believe that the Ohio State Buckeyes won't be right back here next season. The Buckeyes are currently the odds on favorite to win the national championship next year.

Penn State Nittany Lions
With a returning star quarterback, James Franklin should help lead the Penn State Nittany Lions back to the College Football Playoff. Will this finally be the year he gets over the hump and wins it all? We're not as certain about that.

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs recruit as well as any program in the country. It's hard to project a College Football Playoff without the Bulldogs in it, and we're not about to start now.
