AP Poll & Playoff Rankings Reveal a Huge Disconnect

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From Game Time Decisions

AP and Playoff Committee Rankings Reveal a Major Disconnect

There is a striking difference between the AP rankings and the playoff committee’s view of several teams. Notre Dame is ranked fourth by the AP but 11th by the playoff committee, a gap that is difficult to understand.

Alabama also moved ahead of undefeated UCLA, while the idea of Indiana being the fourth-best team was called absurd. Undefeated Utah deserves recognition, although that could change after this week’s game against BYU.

Notre Dame played a close game against BYU, but BYU later suffered a horrible loss to UCF. Iowa State also lost another game and is probably out of the playoff conversation.

With so many conflicting results and rankings, several teams could miss this year’s college football playoffs.
