Tennessee vs. Kentucky Prediction: Spread and Under Pick

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From SportsGrid College Football Today

Tennessee and Kentucky Clash in a Close Betting Debate

Tennessee and Kentucky headline today’s head-to-head discussion, with Tennessee favored by fewer than seven points in Knoxville. Kentucky appears to be receiving more respect after previously getting as many as 7.5 points at Oklahoma.

The case for Tennessee centers on a team that continues to win despite an offense that can be difficult to watch. Tennessee beat Alabama by 16 points at home without a great offensive performance, and Sean Bishop should remain a key part of the attack. That makes Tennessee capable of covering the spread.

The argument for Kentucky is that the Wildcats are still getting close to a touchdown against a Tennessee team that has repeatedly found ways to win without doing so comfortably. Tennessee has needed two-point conversions and major comebacks, raising doubts about its ability to score enough points to pull away.

With six or more points available, Kentucky remains an appealing side. The under is also attractive because neither team is expected to score heavily. Both offenses should lean on the rushing attack, making the ability to limit explosive plays a major factor.

A Sean Bishop prop was considered as an alternative way to back Tennessee without laying the points, but the available number was already in the 130s and offered little value.
