2025 NFL Schedule Release: The Best Game Each Week From 1 to 18

Week 18: Baltimore at Pittsburgh
The final weekend of the regular season features divisional matchups across the board, so there are many good options, but we’ll take the NFL’s most consistently physical rivalry as the pick. The Baltimore Ravens, current kings of the AFC North, travel to hated rival Pittsburgh to play Mike Tomlin’s Steelers. The exact date and time of this game won’t be determined until later, but it will take place in the first week of January, and we know that it will not be a game for the faint of heart.

Week 1: Baltimore at Buffalo - September 7 at 8:20
The best game in Week 1 is one of the marquee matchups of the entire season as the Baltimore Ravens travel to Buffalo to play Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. These are two of the best teams in the league and will battle again for positioning in the crowded AFC playoff race. The winner will have an early leg up in the race for home-field advantage, and a clash between Lamar Jackson and Allen is always entertaining.

Week 2: Philadelphia at Kansas City - September 14 at 4:25
Week 2 gives us an early rematch of last season’s Super Bowl matchup as the Philadelphia Eagles (after hosting the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1) travel to Arrowhead Stadium to play the Kansas City Chiefs. We’ll see the Kansas City offensive line and see if they can better block for Patrick Mahomes against the Philly defensive front. We’ll see if Saquon Barkley can continue his ascendance to superstardom on the game’s biggest stage.

Week 3: Detroit at Baltimore - September 22 at 8:15
The Baltimore Ravens again take center stage. They begin with Buffalo and then host the Cleveland Browns before this Week 3 matchup on Monday Night Football with one of the NFC’s best teams: the Detroit Lions. The Lions hope to repeat the regular season success of 2024-25 but improve their performance in the playoffs. They have to replace both coordinators. This will be a great early test for both units.
Week 4: Baltimore at Kansas City - September 28 at 4:25
This is getting repetitive, but the Baltimore Ravens are featured for the third time in the first four weeks. Lamar Jackson's squad has a front-loaded schedule, and after playing on Monday Night Football, they travel to Kansas City to play the Chiefs in a late afternoon tilt. Jackson versus Mahomes, Harbaugh versus Reid, and the Chiefs versus the Ravens is a great way to end the NFL's first month of the season.
Week 5: Detroit at Cincinnati - October 5 at 4:25
The calendar turns to October, and the best game in Week 5 is a clash in Cincinnati between the Bengals and the Detroit Lions. The Bengals begin the season with games against the Browns, Jaguars, Vikings, and Broncos, with three of those first four on the road. The first home test will come on October 5 as the Lions invade Cincy. This game will feature two of the best offenses in the NFL, giving the Bengals a chance in a marquee game to show off the trio of Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins against one of the NFC’s best teams.
Week 6: Chicago at Washington - October 13 at 8:15
The hopes of the fan bases in Chicago and Washington are as high as they have been in quite some time. The Chicago Bears hope a new coaching staff and many offensive weapons can help Caleb Williams elevate into one of the league's better quarterbacks. The Washington Commanders are “running it back” after a fantastic rookie season from Jayden Daniels. Daniels looks like one of the more exciting young players in the league, and this will be a showdown between two recent No. 1 picks.
Week 7: Washington at Dallas - October 19 at 4:25
By Week 7, the divisional races will start to take shape, and this rivalry contest between the Washington Commanders and the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington could tell us which team can be the primary challenger to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East. The Cowboys are starving for some success, but Dak Prescott, when healthy, has actually been great against his divisional peers.
Week 8: Green Bay at Pittsburgh - October 26 at 8:20
In the final week of October, two of the league’s most historic franchises will meet on NBC’s Sunday Night Football as the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Green Bay Packers at Acrisure Stadium. Green Bay is counting on a healthy bounce-back season for Jordan Love, while Pittsburgh is still searching for answers at the quarterback position and hoping to lean on a strong defense to remain relevant.
Week 9: Kansas City at Buffalo - October 30 at 4:25
The NFL placed the regular season’s biggest game on the first weekend of November, as the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills clash in Orchard Park at 4:25 pm on CBS. The Chiefs and Bills meet nearly annually in the playoffs, and Josh Allen’s Bills have been unable, thus far, to slay Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. While these two are not in the same division, this game usually plays a huge role in which team will earn homefield advantage for the seemingly inevitable playoff meeting.
Week 10: Detroit at Washington - November 9 at 4:25
The Washington Commanders spoiled Detroit’s 2024-2025 season with a shocking upset win in Detroit. Jayden Daniels and the Commanders get to host the Lions in the regular season rematch on November 9, and this should be a fun matchup featuring a pair of high-powered offenses and some young stars on both sides of the ball. The Lions will be looking to regain the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and a win at Washington would help.
Week 11: Detroit at Philadelphia - October 16 at 8:20
This two-week stretch is as tough as it gets for the Detroit Lions as they play on the road at Washington and then travel to Philadelphia to play the reigning Super Bowl Champions. The Philadelphia Eagles will be coming off a Monday night road game against the Green Bay Packers, and they’ll now host Detroit on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Lincoln Financial Field will be rocking as the Eagles play one of the other elite teams in the NFC.
Week 12: Philadelphia at Dallas - November 23 at 4:25
Few fan bases despise each other as much as the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles. For a long time, the Cowboys were seen as the kings of the NFC East, but that seems like ancient history as the Eagles and Washington Commanders have seemingly passed Dak Prescott and Jerry Jones’s Cowboys. Dallas gets a late afternoon kick-off against the Eagles in one of the NFC’s biggest showdowns, and beating Philadelphia at home will be a requirement if Dallas is to get back to contention again in the East.
Week 13: Cincinnati at Baltimore - November 27 at 8:20
Thanksgiving is always a big week for the NFL, and the league has three excellent “Turkey Day” games on the slate. The action begins with Green Bay at Detroit, then Dallas hosts the Kansas City Chiefs. Still, the top billing goes to the primetime game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens on NBC at 8:20 p.m. These two teams are expected to be the top dogs in the tough AFC North, and this is a massive season for Joe Burrow to reassert himself as an equal of Lamar Jackson’s in the AFC.
Week 14: Chicago at Green Bay - December 7 at 1:00
December kicks off with a strong Thursday night matchup (Dallas at Detroit), but the game of the week goes to one of the NFL’s best rivalries as the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers renew acquaintances at Lambeau Field. Caleb Williams takes on Jordan Love in a battle of young quarterbacks vying to challenge the Detroit Lions at the top of the division, and seeing the Bears versus the Packers on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field in December is a sight to look forward to (as long as you’ll be watching indoors!).
Week 15: Green Bay at Denver - December 14 at 4:25
Week 15 is somewhat bereft of marquee matchups. Atlanta and Tampa Bay could have NFC South ramifications, Minnesota and Dallas could be interesting, and the Chargers and Chiefs are a solid AFC West clash, but the Packers and Broncos rarely play, and they get the nod as the best game in Week 15. The Broncos were a surprise in 2024 as rookie quarterback Bo Nix exceeded expectations and Sean Payton backed up his bold words and got the team to the playoffs. They expect more in 2025 and will have a home game against a potential NFC playoff team to show they are ready for primetime.
Week 16: Philadelphia at Washington - December 20
The two best teams in the NFC East meet in a 2025 NFC Championship Game rematch as the Philadelphia Eagles head to Washington to play the Commanders on Saturday, December 20. This has the makings of a matchup between Jalen Hurts and Jayden Daniels that could happen two or three times each season for the next several years.

Week 16: Philadelphia (-1.5) at Washington
Week 17: Philadelphia at Buffalo - December 28 at 4:25
Week 17’s best game may be a preview of the Super Bowl as the Buffalo Bills host the Philadelphia Eagles in Orchard Park, New York. Other solid matchups exist (Dallas at Washington, Detroit at Minnesota, Denver at Kansas City, Houston at Los Angeles Chargers). Still, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles traveling to play at Buffalo right after Christmas is the best of the group.
