When it’s all said and done, the Chargers and Bengals could be duking it out for one of the final playoff spots in the AFC. As a result, the stakes are high for this clash on Sunday Night Football. The Chargers are a slight home favorite against Joe Burrow and company in Week 11. I like the growth we’ve seen Justin Herbert in this new run-heavy approach offense with the Chargers. Herbert has only turned the ball over once through the air, and he’s making much better decisions overall. Even with the growth we’ve seen from the Chargers under Jim Harbaugh, this isn’t exactly a must-win for the home side like it is for the visitors. Burrow and the Bengals offense needs to show desperation early and often against a strong Chargers defense. Expect them to do enough offensively to tighten the gap in the AFC playoff picture.

Bengals vs Chargers Best Bet Total: UNDER 47.5 (-115)
It’s no secret that the biggest issue for the Bengals has been their defense. Cincinnati’s offense has made its mark this year, but their defense has led them to a disappointing record overall. The bread and butter of the Chargers offense remains running the football. As much as the Bengals have struggled defensively, they’ve been quietly solid against the run. Entering Week 11, the Bengals have allowed 4.2 yards per carry, which puts them in a tie for sixth-best in the NFL. That’s an encouraging sign for Cincinnati and a way to keep the score low. As much as the Bengals are built to play in a shootout, that’s not how we predict this one will play out. The Chargers’ defense deserves plenty of credit, while the Bengals have the talent on the defensive line to stop the Chargers at what they do best.
