Bills vs. Steelers Best Bet ATS: Steelers -5.5 (-115)
It’s always slightly odd to see a bigger spread in a preseason matchup like this one. The Steelers are listed as 5.5-point home favorites on Saturday night, and that number has continued to be bet down since it opened. The Steelers are set to face off against their former quarterback, Mitch Trubisky. Trubisky is prone to killer mistakes and turnovers, which the Steelers should find a way to take advantage of with a deep defensive front, even if the big boys don’t suit up. Buffalo got their doors kicked in during Week 1 of the preseason, and although we’re unlikely to see a blowout, take the home side to cover the number.
Bills vs. Steelers Best Bet Total: OVER 37.5 (-115)
For the second week in a row in the preseason, we’re riding with an over in a game featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers. Russell Wilson is expected to start at quarterback and play multiple series, which should at least help the Steelers put up some points in this matchup against a Bills defense that left a lot to be desired last week. Depending on how much time some of the skill position players on Buffalo see in this matchup could determine whether this goes over. We like the number we’re getting for a high-scoring preseason tilt.
Bills Offensive Player To Watch: Quintin Morris, TE
With some early injury concerns surrounding Dalton Knox, it could force Quintin Morris into a more significant role. We’ve seen some reliability from this player in the past, and we expect the Bills to operate with even more two tight end sets in 2024. Dalton Kincaid will still be the primary target in the tight-end room, but Morris can be more impactful than many give him credit for. He should play a role on offense for the Bills in this preseason tilt on Saturday night.
Bills Defensive Player to Watch: Dorian Williams, LB
With the latest injury news surrounding the Buffalo Bills on defense, it’s time for players to step up. Dorian Williams looked like a player capable of doing just that when the Steelers and Bills had a joint practice on Thursday. With clear question marks in the secondary, the Bills will need to find a way to get pressure on defense, and Williams could be thrown into that role earlier than expected.
Steelers Offensive Player to Watch: Russell Wilson, QB
The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to debut veteran quarterback Russell Wilson under the lights on Saturday night at home against the Buffalo Bills. Even if Wilson is listed as the QB1 on the Steelers depth chart, no real decision has been made regarding which signal-caller will start Week 1 in Atlanta. Justin Fields has had some impressive moments during training camp with the Steelers and is quietly gaining momentum. As a result, the action that Wilson sees on Saturday should be essential to watch.
Steelers Defensive Player to Watch: Payton Wilson, LB
How can the answer to this question not be Payton Wilson for the second week in a row? The rookie linebacker fell into the Steelers’ lap in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft because of injury concerns, and he was dominant on the field in Week 1 preseason action against Houston. With big free agent signing Patrick Queen not expected to see much of any action, if any at all, Wilson has a chance to cement his spot on this defense like he’s been doing all training camp.
