Predicting Colts Record in 2024: 11-6
Season Win Total: 8.5 (Over-104/Under-118)
Indianapolis enters the year with their win total set at 8.5. The Colts finished their first year under Shane Steichen with a 10-7 record and a backup quarterback running the show. Indy missed the playoffs after a tough ending in their final game against the Texans. However, considering last season, the Colts have shown they’re well-coached, talented, and young. With Anthony Richardson healthy, paired with a full year of Jonathan Taylor and the continuity in the locker room that the head coach preaches, I predict the Colts will finish 11-6 and clinch their first ride to the postseason since 2020.
NFL Schedule Release: Predicting Every Colts Game in 2024
The Indianapolis Colts are looking to win their first AFC South Division title since 2014. Shane Steichen is looking to build on his impressive first year as Indy’s head coach. He’ll finally have his starting quarterback, Anthony Richardson, healthy.
Looking ahead to the 2024 season, here’s how the Colts schedule fairs and score predictions for each game.
Colts Future Odds:
Win Total: 8.5 (-104 Over/-118 Under)
Super Bowl: +5500
AFC: +2500
AFC South: +330
September 8, 2024: Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts (+1.5)
The Colts open the regular season up against a division opponent, the Texans. Not only is Houston a division rival, but the Texans also ended Indianapolis postseason hopes in the final regular season game at Lucas Oil Stadium. However, in the first matchup between the two teams in 2023, Anthony Richardson dominated against the Texans in his limited time before injury with two quick rushing touchdowns in the first quarter. Indy hopes to finally get the first healthy battle between Richardson and C.J. Stroud. This time, the Colts show how explosive their underrated offense can be and start the year with a win.
Score: Colts 31, Texans 27
September 15, 2024: Indianapolis Colts (+4) @ Green Bay Packers
The Colts luck out and not only get the Packers in Week 2 after traveling back from Green Bay, but they make the trip to Lambeau Field in favorable weather. While Jordan Love and the Packers will likely pose a threat to the Colts at home, the Colts defense will manage to disrupt Love in the pocket and force just enough duress to steal a game on the road.
Score: Colts 24, Packers 20
September 22, 2024: Chicago Bears vs. Indianapolis Colts (-2)
The Colts get an early glimpse of No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams and the Bears' revamped offense. Considering how explosive Chicago has the potential to be, this game could go either way, but it’s a guessing game as to how quickly Williams will put it together with his new squad. In this case, Indy takes care of business at home to continue their early-season success.
Score: Colts 30, Bears 20
September 29, 2024: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Indianapolis Colts (-0.5)
The Steelers and Colts battle yet again at Lucas Oil Stadium. This time, the Steelers will have another different starting quarterback, Russell Wilson or Justin Fields. Nonetheless, Indy protects its home field again in a close battle with a late-game stop on defense.
Score: Colts 27, Steelers 23
October 6, 2024: Indianapolis Colts (+2.5) @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Indy hits the road again for a division battle with the Jaguars in Jacksonville. The Colts haven’t won in Jacksonville since 2014, and I don’t think the losing streak ends this season. Indianapolis will put together a much better fight than in previous years, but the Jags will pull away in the fourth quarter.
Score: Jaguars 34, Colts 23
October 13, 2024: Indianapolis Colts (-1.5) @ Tennessee Titans
The Colts will continue their road trip with another divisional matchup against the Titans. In 2023, Indianapolis won both games against Tennessee, and they’ll look to do the same this year. The Colts will get back in the win column behind a massive game from Jonathan Taylor in the first matchup without Mike Vrabel coaching up the Titans defensive line.
Score: Colts 34, Titans 24
October 20, 2024: Miami Dolphins vs. Indianapolis Colts (+1)
The Colts return home against an explosive Dolphins offense that will test Indy’s defense and offense. Indianapolis will put up a good fight, but the speed of Tyreek Hill and Miami’s offensive weapons will exploit the Colts' young secondary. The Colts will lose their first game at home.
Score: Dolphins 33, Colts 20
October 27, 2024: Indianapolis Colts (+4) @ Houston Texans
Indianapolis heads to Houston for their final matchup against the Texans. After winning the first game at home, the Colts go to NRG Stadium to face a very motivated Houston team. This game will have many highlights from both sides, but C.J. Stroud will have the last laugh with a clutch final drive to down the Colts.
Score: Texans 31, Colts 27
November 3, 2024: Indianapolis Colts (+1) @ Minnesota Vikings
The last time the Colts played Minnesota, Indianapolis ended up on the wrong end of history after the Vikings came back from a 33-0 deficit to win. Nonetheless, Minnesota’s offense will look completely different this go-round, with the likes of Kirk Cousins and Dalvin Cook elsewhere. Indy will likely compete against J.J. McCarthy as the rookie grows in Kevin O’Connell’s offensive system. In the end, Gus Bradley and the Colts' defense will do their job to make things difficult for the rookie while Indy’s offense takes care of business.
Score: Colts 27, Vikings 13
November 10, 2024: Buffalo Bills vs. Indianapolis Colts (+2)
The Colts will host the Buffalo Bills at home in what will be yet another great measuring stick against an AFC East opponent. Facing Josh Allen will always pose a threat to any team, but Indianapolis has found success against Buffalo in the past. This year, the Bills will likely have growing pains as the team rolls out nearly a completely retooled roster with multiple offensive and defense changes. The Colts take care of business on their home field and grab a huge win.
Score: Colts 38, Bills 27
November 17, 2024: Indianapolis Colts (+4) @ New York Jets
Indianapolis will travel to New York for a huge game under the lights of Sunday Night Football. The Colts will have one of the biggest tests yet against arguably one of the best defenses in the league, led by Sauce Gardner. With Aaron Rodgers healthy, this matchup could go either way, but Indy manages to gut a win out and upset the Jets on the road.
Score: Colts 27, Jets 23
November 24, 2024: Detroit Lions vs. Indianapolis Colts (+2.5)
The Lions had one of the biggest turnarounds in 2023 and fell one game short of a Super Bowl appearance. This season, Detroit looks to build off their strong performance last year and return to the postseason to get over the hump. Along the way, they’ll host the Colts at Ford Field, which has all the potential to be a great game. Indy will put up a good fight for three quarters, but in the fourth, the Lions' offense will prove too much for the Colts' defense.
Score: Lions 34, Colts 20
December 1, 2024: Indianapolis Colts (-2) @ New England Patriots
The last matchup between the Colts and Patriots took place in Germany, and it may have been one of the most boring games in 2023. This season's matchup will have more memorable moments but likely end with the same result: The Colts will march into Gillette Stadium and dominate the Patriots.
Score: Colts 27, Patriots 13
BYE WEEK
The Colts will get a late season bye week, but they’ll be able to finally get rest in hopes of closing out the season strong for a playoff push. Indy will have the chance to get healthy and prepare for the Broncos.
December 15, 2024: Indianapolis Colts (-2.5) @ Denver Broncos
Indianapolis heads to Denver for a date with the Broncos in Week 15. The Colts have succeeded in Mile High in their last few visits, but coming off a bye week, Indy will have some rust. The Colts will drop a very winnable game on the road against Sean Payton’s squad.
Score: Broncos 24, Colts 17
December 22, 2024: Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts (-3.5)
The Colts will host the Titans in the last regular-season matchup between the two teams. After winning the first game early in the year, Tennessee will look for redemption as they head into Lucas Oil Stadium. Indy will still outlast a fourth-quarter push from the Titans in a much closer game.
Score: Colts 31, Titans 27
Week 17 TBD: Indianapolis Colts (-2) @ New York Giants
In the last matchup against the Giants, the Colts allowed Daniel Jones and New York to embarrass them. In what was a very non-competitive game, Indy struggled to stop the Giants and score against them. This year, the Colts will redeem themselves from the last matchup and steal another game in New York.
Score: Colts 34, Giants 24
Week 18 TBD: Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts (-1.5)
The Jaguars and Colts will battle to end the regular season in what could be a deciding game for both teams. Depending on the stakes at this point in the season, who knows which version of the Colts and Jags we will get? Nonetheless, Indy will come to play regardless to protect Lucas Oil Stadium against their rival.
Score: Colts 33, Jaguars 27
Predicting Colts Record in 2024: 11-6
Season Win Total: 8.5 (Over-104/Under-118)
Indianapolis enters the year with their win total set at 8.5. The Colts finished their first year under Shane Steichen with a 10-7 record and a backup quarterback running the show. Indy missed the playoffs after a tough ending in their final game against the Texans. However, considering last season, the Colts have shown they’re well-coached, talented, and young.
