A trio of Kansas City Chiefs players sat courtside for Game 3 of the Western Conference finals between the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves at American Airlines Center on Sunday night.
Two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes, future Hall of Fame tight end Travis Kelce, and newly acquired wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood" Brown were in attendance for the Mavericks’ 116-107 win, which moved Dallas to within one victory of its first NBA Finals appearance since 2011. The Mavericks have helped shock the NBA world with three straight wins over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The T-Wolves entered the Western Conference Finals as a favorite after defeating the reigning NBA champion Denver Nuggets in seven games.
The Chiefs trio was also joined by Mahomes’ wife, Brittany. The Mavericks’ official X handle playfully referred to Kelce as “Taylor Swift’s boyfriend" in a social media post. While Kelce appeared to be booed by Dallas fans when shown on the scoreboard, Mahomes received cheers as he attempted to pump up the crowd. With the Mavericks looking to close out the NBA playoff series against the Timberwolves in Game 4 on Tuesday, the Chiefs still have a bit more than three months to wait until their next game of consequence: the 2024 NFL season opener against the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 5.
On the FanDuel Sportsbook, Mahomes is listed as the favorite to win NFL MVP at +500, while the Chiefs have the second-shortest odds to win the Super Bowl at +600.
