Are We Serious With These Comeback Player of the Year Finalists?

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From The Craig Carton Show
Comeback Player of the Year Confusion
Craig Carton expressed confusion over the nominees for the Comeback Player of the Year, questioning the inclusion of Dak Prescott and Trevor Lawrence. According to Carton, Prescott, who played the majority of games last season for the Cowboys, and Lawrence, who played ten out of ten games, should not be considered for the award. Carton argued that it was unclear why these players were deemed eligible for the comeback category.
Carton highlighted Daniel Jones as a significant oversight in the nomination process. Despite leading the Indianapolis Colts to an 8-1 record and briefly becoming the top seed in the AFC, Jones was not listed as a finalist. Carton questioned the rationale behind this, especially given Jones's journey from being nearly cut by the New York Giants to achieving notable success with the Colts. He voiced frustration over what he perceives as inconsistencies in the nomination criteria.
Focusing on other nominees, Carton endorsed Aiden Hutchinson and Christian McCaffrey as deserving candidates, noting Hutchinson's recovery from a leg injury and McCaffrey’s limited playtime in the previous year. He also mentioned that while Stefon Diggs, another nominee, had a great year post-injury, the nominations of Prescott and Lawrence still did not make sense to him, suggesting that commercial interests might influence the selection process.
