Sometimes sports, uh, gives you a, a nice big fat dish of irony that you just have to lap up and enjoy because it's a gift from the sports gods. And that happened, uh, this morning when we found out that, uh, two of the finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame have a connection to one another, and I'm here for all of it. So Bill Belichick, uh, is a finalist to get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Canton, Ohio. Uh, we can all agree here that regardless of this nonsense in North Carolina, regardless of the nonsense with the 24 year old girlfriend and how icky and disgusting that is and whatever damage he might be doing to his legacy by being cuckolded by, uh, literally a woman young enough to be his granddaughter, uh, Bill Belichick is a first ballot guaranteed Hall of Fame head coach. Uh, and he will get a unanimous vote to get into the Hall of Fame. So let's start off with that as a premise. I believe you're with me on that. 100%. And look, I hate the name the Patriots. I hate the fact that he was my head coach for 3 minutes and retired on a cocktail napkin. Uh, he was right to do it, obviously. Uh, and we're still trying to find the right coach ever since he said no to us. That being said, no one's gonna dispute. No one can debate, and if he's not a unanimous selection, then whoever didn't vote for him should lose. The voting privileges because no matter what you say and think about Bill Belichick, he is the greatest head coach in the history of the NFL and it will only come short to Don Shula in total wins, but if this is a league about winning, nobody has won more. Bill Belichick is in, OK? The other guy that is now a finalist and I, you could debate with me all day long as to whether or not these types of people should get in. It's an ownership group. OK, yeah, he's technically a contributor, quote unquote contributor. Now, I do think there are men and women who have been great contributors to the sport who do deserve the opportunity to be enshrined in the contributor wing, not in the same wing of the players, but in a contributor wing to the sport of football. And by the way, I feel the way about all sports, right? There are men and women who bring a lot to the table for a long period of time that should be enshrined, OK? Robert. Kraft is now a finalist. All right. So Robert Kraft is the architect, of course, of hiring Bill Belichick and winning all those championships. And Robert Kraft, to his credit, has also now rebuilt the Patriots after a couple down years, uh, and going there and getting Mike and recognizing that the guy they had for the one year was not a good head coach, all right, and immediately replacing him, which is a, a sign of a competent owner. But Robert Kraft is now eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a contributor. Robert Kraft is going to get into the Hall of Fame one day, and it is based on merit. Robert Kraft, along with Jerry Jones are two of the 4 most powerful owners in the entire sport. Um, no one can dispute that. He's got one of the loudest voices, the most powerful voices in the NFL. He's one of the reasons the NFL has made So much extra money in the Roger Goodell era as commissioner, and he's the steward of 7 Super Bowl 6 Super Bowl championships. Yes, 6 Super Bowl championships, right? So all that warrants him getting in. But we also know right now in the moment that there is some blood in the water. When it comes to the relationship between Robert Kraft here and Bill Belichick here, so much so so that Bill Belichick, as you know, did not want to allow the Patriots to see any scouting film on any of their upcoming graduates. Because he has been told that he's no longer welcome at the Patriot facility or something along those lines, right? Yeah, something that ends up hurting North Carolina players over a petty, right? And he doesn't want Patriots scouts coming to North Carolina games. He won't give them press passes and it's like a war right now. It's a cold war, but it's a war. Bill Belichick, who for some reason feels that Robert Kraft wronged him when they fired him, and Robert Kraft, who I suppose feels that maybe Bill Belichick doesn't appreciate all the support he gave him when he first became Patriots head coach. I don't know. You think grown men could figure their crap out and not act like schoolgirls, but here we are. So as a non-patriot guy. I want to see both guys get in in the same year because I know they don't like each other. Makes it better. Now, perhaps, you know, Robert Krafts, who's in his 80s now and maybe he's willing to let bygones be bygones, but that's not the guy I've read about. That's a guy who's, you know, he'll rip your heart out in a negotiation and still full of energy. He's old in age, but he still has it. There's no, no doubt he has it. You and I've seen him dancing on stage with Meek Mill and at all the fanatics parties, right, uh, with our dear friend Michael Rubin and all that stuff. So you're right, age is just a number with him. He's still very vibrant, right? But wouldn't it be great to See both those men sitting next to each other, having to acknowledge each other in what they meant to each other because no Robert Kraft, Bill Belichick's not in the Hall of Fame. No Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft is not in the Hall of Fame.
