Broncos vs. Panthers Prediction: Back Carolina at Home

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From NFL Pro Football Today

Carolina Backed to Bounce Back Against Denver, With Jonah Coleman in Focus

The Broncos will take on the Panthers in Carolina after a dramatic win over Kansas City. The Chiefs failed to score from the one-yard line several times, allowing Denver to secure the victory.

Denver has been the NFL’s best betting team at home, but the results have been different on the road. The Broncos have a couple of road wins, but those came against two of the league’s worst teams. Despite that, Denver enters this game as the favorite.

The Broncos are difficult to oppose at home, but they have not looked like the same team on the road. That makes Carolina the preferred side at home, with the expectation that the Panthers can begin to bounce back. If this game had been played two weeks ago, Carolina might have been favored by three or four points. However, the Panthers’ defense has struggled, particularly during the first half of games.

The total is 44.5, but this matchup has too many possible outcomes. Either team could win comfortably, and the game could be high-scoring or low-scoring. Carolina still looks like the best team in the division, although the Panthers have not shown it recently.

Carolina’s offensive line has been a major problem. The injuries have affected Bryce Young and Tedder O McMillan, who has two touchdowns this year, both in the same game. Jalen Coker has also taken a step back over the past couple of weeks. When Bryce Young drops back, pressure arrives quickly and prevents him from getting rid of the football.

Jonah Coleman is a player to watch for Denver. He was a waiver-wire target before going on injured reserve, which led to him being dropped in leagues without IR spots or by managers facing roster pressure during bye weeks. He is now beginning to show that he could be a difference-maker in the offense.

With RJ Harvey on injured reserve, this is Coleman’s opportunity. He is an explosive young running back who can also catch the ball out of the backfield. The over on his combined rushing and receiving total offers multiple ways to cash. Last week, he exceeded 100 combined yards and scored a touchdown.

Carolina has a significant challenge against a very good defense, but the Panthers have also shown a tendency to perform in unexpected spots. The lean is toward Carolina at home, though the range of possible outcomes makes this a difficult game to bet with confidence.
