Cam Scattabo Out: Devin Singletary Takes Over Week 9

Cam Scattabo’s Absence Creates a Bigger Role for Devin Singletary

Cam Scattabo’s absence is not a good sign. On his final big run during the finish against the Texans two weeks ago, he appeared to pull up with a hamstring injury. He came up lame as he was brought down and gingerly jogged off the field, although the game was already in hand.

There was speculation that the injury could put his Week 9 availability in danger, and he has now officially been ruled out. That leaves Devin Singletary as the primary running back alongside an unfamiliar backup.

Expect plenty of Singletary, along with possible designed runs for JJ McCarthy, who moves around well. McCarthy may also need to throw more often than preferred against the Eagles. That could create more opportunities for turnovers and give the Eagles a puncher’s chance.
