Jaguars and Ravens Prepare for a Key Matchup Amid Quarterback Changes and Injuries

The Jaguars face a big game against the Ravens tonight, with Joey F. set to start at quarterback for Baltimore.

Joey F. called the opportunity “special” after working hard to reach this position. He also acknowledged the difficult circumstances surrounding Lamar and Snoop, two players he looks up to who have helped him since he joined the Ravens. After speaking with both of them, he is embracing a next-man-up mentality and focusing on playing to the best of his ability.

Jesse Minner said adversity reveals things about people and expressed excitement about his team’s opportunity to play Thursday. His goal is to put the best healthy players on the field, take their shot and see what happens.

On the Jaguars’ side, Liam Cohen addressed the challenge created by losing four starters in one game. He said replacing that production requires a response from the entire building, not just the offensive and defensive captains. Players, coaches and staff all have a role in helping the team overcome those losses.

Since arriving from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cohen has changed the trajectory of Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence is playing MVP-level football and beginning to look like the player many expected after his career at Clemson.

This Jaguars team has an opportunity to reach the AFC Championship game, especially with the way its defense is playing.
